The New Sage Icon, Thoughts?

I have this phobia and the icon did nothing to me. I actually much prefer the old one to the new one. Now the one place that does trigger the phobia is Saint Mocianne's Arboretum. On top of my intense phobia of bees. Hell, I can't even see bees in the overworld without that intense fear hitting me. I'm not going to ask for these things to be removed though because that's just silly to me.

I'm pretty sure I have arachnophobia, and I flinch every time something that sounds like a wasp or bee flies by my head (or hear it) but I don't ask for their removal either, but I also won't fault people for making such requests.


The way people have reacted to this is just simply ridiculous to me. It's an icon for an unreleased job, not your bunny Boi glamour items or the tempest zone, etc.

The slippery slope is called a fallacy because it is, in fact, a fallacy....

My question is, since it was such a small number of people asking for it. Why not do a poll globally to gauge people’s reactions. Because it is something that effects everyone even if it’s small.Even reading that jp thread, there are multiple people saying, they don’t see why they should change it, they could just enable an option for players sensitive to that to toggle it.Again, its weird to me SE took action for this because they didnt want a minority of players to feel uncomfortable, but theyre fine inserting a stripping underage girl which no one bats an eye at.

So, they just announced a redesign of the Sage Icon, as seen in this post here,

Sage Icon Changes

What are peoples thoughts. I can see the reason for the change but feel they could of went with a better alternative. Like why not mimic the wing shape the make along the players back. I'm sure the new icon will grow on us, similar to how Gunbreaker's did, but what do people think?

Personally I don't think it would of triggered mine but I'm happy with the change regardless if it helps others. Also I'm glad (not glad but you get what I mean) to see I'm not the only one that has this stupid phobia as trying to explain it to others in real life just elicits confused head tilts and raised eyebrows.

Jokes aside it ultimately isn't going to matter. It's just an icon and people won't be paying too much attention to it. If only they cared this much about balance changes to healers as a whole. Who have been asking for changes since early ShB.
