this =) those complainers are morelikely PS players ^^We had a small band of lalafell bards on Zurvan a day or so ago, no one CARED if they were playing themselves or using a macro.
Literally. We didnt CARE. What did we care about? That the small band had travelled to our server to welcome us as a celebration.
No one was "damaged", no one was even REMOTELY interested in how they played. What we DID care about was the repertoire, and the growing crowds were testament to the music, and the moment.
Sorry you werent there to enjoy it with us.
They don't "allow" it (the TOS explicitly forbids it), they turn a blind eye to it, because at the end of the day it harms nobody, like GShade. Botting actively damages the in-game economy.
Like the prev poster said, it's not really allowed just like other mods aren't. But since it doesn't harm anybody, it's a grey zone.
The OP is not complaining about third party programs in general, they're complaining that an automatic player steals ther glory and fame (???).
As long as they won't implement Anti cheat software, they will never be able to detect illegal 3.party software sadly.
I figured out what this thread is...it's a bunch of future old lady Homeowners Association members...reporting their neighbors for things that don't actually hurt them or the neighborhood.
tbf, people can't openly say, Hey I'm using a third party program because then they could get banned.
They have specifically said that Gshade/Reshade isn't against the ToS. They aren't turning a blind eye to it, they actively said it isn't against ToS because it's no different than Nvidia's shaders that are already built into every single computer that uses an Nvidia card.
But you are right that they tend to turn a blind eye to most bots anyways. Outside of gibberish hyur #4billion under the ground that probably changeback bans itself, it's rare to actually see a bot get punishment (and by see, I mean actually seeing it stop existing).
You don't even have to report it if they are playing copyrighted music and someone is say twitch streaming it. Their music algorithm will pick it up, even if the vod becomes archived they could get hit with a DMCA warning because they love to sniff those servers. I figure it won't be too long until DMCA starts to get wind of performances in-game, so don't get too popular then.
Of course if you are streaming, turning performances volume to 0 will keep you in the clear.
There's a fair amount of people who will just stand in a crowded area and hit one note repeatedly for hours on end just to be annoying. Drove me to just turn off performance sounds in the game settings.
