On a serious note... (still a fitting pun though)
Let's all be glad no famous artist is using midi sounds for their club music, or that midi sounds aren't a mainstream thing.
Just imagine, every pop song could be "replayed 1:1" in perfect sync, the copyright claim sharks would go wild in FF like:
"this is OUR SONG give us all your money, shut it down, you pirates, you PIRATES taking food literally out of these starving artists childrens mouths!!"

God I wish this corporate artistic property copyright claim BS would die off irl already...
It's just mind blowingly stupid how someone tries to define how many beats, melodies, tunes, strings, sounds a "piece" has, thus making someone who replicates it a criminal who is trying to profit from it or ruin the original artist financially, even if they don't ask profit for it and share (play) it free... and then the lawyers come in and are willing to literally slam a million dollar piratism sue on that person.
It's absolute madness. Youtubers getting strikes for "speaking lyrics" which melody is "too close" to a certain song, and the DMC bots are instantly nuking the channel.
Can we as a society just move on already and like play and share all audio/video content freely and figure out a better system to compensate the artists? Even if it's some UBI system with increased bonuses for those who "create stuff" ?
Anything would be better than where we're at now. Putting people in jail for playing a known song "because taking potential money from X" wtf man.....

To be fair to them, during the wild west of the internet before file sharing sites got blocked by almost every ISP there must have been a 10 year period where I didn't know a single person who actually paid for movies or music. On the other hand, society would probably have more sympathy for some of these major artists if they didn't spend millions on drugs and crashing a Rolls Royce into a swimming pool for a giggle, while kids spent what little pocket money they had on buying their music or watching their movies.

Tho I agree, in my opinion it's kinda annoying going to every major city and hearing a bardbot however the best way to solve that issue is just mute performance in sound settings.BMP developer can simply mitigate the issue by making it so it doesn't work in major cities tho I do not see it happening bc you can simply mute it but it causes threads like this to pop up and eventually unwanted attention on it. There is a saying few rotten apples spoil the bunch. This is certainly not 1st time anyone complained about it and i'm sure it won't be the last.

Why the heck would you be jealous. Even when either a person plays well or a bot is used it doesn't sound great and could never compare to a real instrument. Let people have their fun and maybe grow up a bit.

So, you're upset because you have to do performance instruments by yourself while some use a program to do it for them? Sounds incredibly petty and stupid to me. I'm on the PS4 myself, and I do have to do it all by hand as well. But I don't complain every time I see someone doing a song with said program, it's their choice, and they ain't actually hurting, harassing, or doing anything to anyone else.

This is the last place to seek musical talent of any kind. If you're that concerned take it to a peer venue, not a platform for childlike entertainment. Admittedly I've never really used it but I see everyone having fun in this vein as I travel about. Rendering a feature to the scope of 'pro or gtfo' will eliminate 99% of those who even use it and drag most their fun with it. For what? Your preference? These forums haven't changed at all. You can basically tell who's not actually playing. If I have to hear "Kiss from a Rose" by Seal one more time. That just makes me want to snatch it from their hands and crack their instrument over their head. It's obvious who has talent, when all you hear in the cities is the same ole songs being played over and over. lol I could turn off performance but I'm listening for actual playing at the same time.

On the one hand, I don't rly want to listen to these same Bards all over Limsa being horrible because they can't play.

On the other hand I can kinda get it to some extent if you put a lot of work in to actually learn that it sucks when people who '' cheat '' get all the attention.
Especially since Bards and performing are all about attention it's sorta part of the fantasy.

Tbh I just assume everyone is using it unless they're playing something original which ultimately is more impressive too.
