Cannot progress main story due to server disconnect

Steps:
1. During the quest 'Heavensward' on the step 'Use the Duty Finder to confront Thordan VII in the Singularity Reactor.'
2. While completing the trial 'The Singularity Reactor' and after completing the fight, immediately upon clicking the 'Exit' button to leave the instance the Sargatanas world went down.
3. Upon logging back in, the quest step was not completed. After successfully completing the trial again, the quest step still remains incomplete.

My best guess is that I was supposed to see a cutscene after exiting the instance, but didn't because of the server going down. Now I am essentially progress locked since I cannot abandon a main story quest.

If it is possible to reset the quest that would be great. Regardless, any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Update: I looked up the quest steps online in a last attempt to somehow fix the quest and went to Fortemps manor like the quest should have told me to. The cutscene I was supposed to see at the end of the trial played and the quest continued like normal.

Side note - Since I had no idea the cutscene was going to play I missed a duty cue and got penalized for it. That and the sheer stupidity of how simple the fix was have made this overall not a good experience.
