General questions regarding Game Time Cards. (Wrong Region Purchase)

This happened about couple of days ago, but a friend of mine decided to purchase a Game Time Card for myself and as it turns out, it was restricted to a specific region in which took both of us by surprise.
The card in question is purchased from the NA store, and I'm unfortunately from EU/Others.

As she is a sprout, she doesn't know how to use any sort of forums due to her inability to use computers, so I've come here in her stead to propose a couple of questions regarding said purchase;

Is there a way to receive a refund for the purchase as long as the code hasn't been used through customer service? (With the appropriate proof of purchase of course.)
If not, then what would her options be to get her money' worth back?
