What’s up with players in dungeons.

Get a group and the healer won’t heal anyone not even the tank. Said something about only healing those who play correctly.

It's common for healers not to heal much because you don't need to heal very much in this game in most content. You do damage most of the time and heal when it's needed.

Most healers do not behave this way so you had a very exceptional situation in that dungeon.

The healer could be kicked for not doing their role of healing (harassment or AFK).

If a healer cussed you out, you can report them and they will probably get warned or banned (they can't tell you what action they took though). It's true that some classes don't get an AoE until level 40, but after that it's common for most people not to use AoE because they don't understand what it is so singling you out for it is futile.

If the dungeons are sidequests (blue quests) you can do a lot of them solo at level 80, but there are a lot of dungeons required for the main story that you probably want to do before reaching level 80. It's not common behaviour so the best thing to do is see if they said anything rude and report it.

What you described is definitely not the norm. That said, with popularity comes a couple of things:

First, the trolls who are coming here just because the game is popular (and because it has a reputation for having a great, welcoming community). No, they're not necessarily bringing toxic behaviour over from another MMO, they're just here because this is where they can now be the biggest losers to the biggest crowd of people they know it will bother.

Second, the players who may legitimately not know any better. Like it or not, FF14 is getting coverage everywhere now and almost everyone is calling it an amazing experience. We are dealing with a lot of players who may have never played an MMO before, or may not have played one with a holy trinity set up. They may just need some friendly guidance on how to actually play the game and what the game expects of them.

My limited experience shows that if anyone is going to be unforgiving, it's against tanks. As a healer my favourite dungeon run was with a learning tank and a good attitude but when I first did a trial a year ago I attempted tank because paladin appealed to me.

My first dungeon I kept threat and I think I was easy to keep alive but I didn't know the route. I can't remember the insult completely but it was something like I needed to go back in time and kill my parents before I could be born and waste their time. At that time I decided I may as well keep playing wow and only recently I gave this place another shot.

This really is not normal and FF14 vets should know better then to act like this as they are well aware they are putting their accounts on the line trying to be an elitist in a leveling roulette especially.

I've very rarely encountered such situations. Maybe Chaos is - despite its name - just more relaxed than other server clusters, though.

Sometimes people are difficult. It happens, if its bothering you feel free to report if its reportable.

Strangest experience I've had was in one of the first MQ story dungeons, queue popped, loaded in, after cutscene the other three party members all ran to the starting portal and left. No clue as to why as they never said a word. It didn't take very long at all, maybe 5 minutes if that for new party members to zone in and the dungeon commenced as normal. This was the only time I've ever had people bail in a dungeon so I don't think it's normal behavior.

Some people are just weird. You are, unfortunately, going to meet a few of these weird people along the way.

By the Twelve, I would hope that's not normal behavior on your server for dungeons. What absolute pieces of garbage those people were.

If that IS the norm on your server, I'd transfer elsewhere ASAP. Most servers have their bad apples here and there, but the majority of people in this game are just trying to get through a run like everyone else is.

You can also report anyone who cusses you out or harasses you in chat. There's no excuse for that behavior.
