There would most definitely be leader boards with the thought process i'm thinking. As well as Seasons per expansion broken up into 4 seasons a year, with 4 competitions a year. With two divisions "Master Roulette", and "Master Pre-Made" *register with a set 4 man group consisting of 1 tank, 1 healer, 2 dps.
(each with different prizes, titles, mounts, etc.)

A score given to the team based on: Centered around fastest time, least amount of party damage taken, boss kill times, deaths incurred, interrupts.

With leaderboards you would have a record holder until they replaced with a better score. The one 4 man team at the end of the season would get a special achievement, trophy (housing item or for FC house) to display.

I'll call it "Festival of the Hunt" (FFIX reference).

No different the Restoration projects, and highly competitive.
