Help with crossbar

Hello guys! I play exclusively with a controller, and am having trouble figuring something out. I have my crossbar setup, but whenever I have to do a duty where I take control of another NPC, or ride a mount, the bar does not replace my crossbar, forcing me to have to click the abilities with my mouse. This is very unintuitive as I have to use my controller to move and mouse to click.

I have looked in settings, but cannot seem to find a setting to replace your crossbar with the petbar (or whatever that bar is called) when you take control of another NPC or ride a mount that has abilities (specifically in duties while doing MSQ).

Could anybody please help me?

As far as I understand it you're SoL.
I've tried to figure this out before but to no avail.
When it happens to me I just die to reset it.

Are you suggesting that it's SUPPOSED to swap your crossbar, but if it doesn't it's a bug? Because it's NEVER done it for me. There is a setting in options to replace hotbar 1 with the petbar when on a pet (I am assuming that's what that bar is called), but it doesn't seem to work with the crossbar.

This game was originally designed for ps4, which requires the use of a controller, so I doubt they oversighted even up to today in not providing some way to be able to do this, I just can't seem to figure out how to.

I'm suggesting I'm with you, I feel like there should be a solution.
The deeper I've dug for one the more confused I've gotten, so I'm sorry if my post reads a little strange. As soon as I toggle to another hotbar the custom mount/npc one is gone and I also don't know what to do about it.

Character Configuration has the pet hotbar settings.
You'll wanna use the pet hotbar as hotbar 1, there is even an option for mounts to do that.
It's all at the bottom of the display tab of the hotbar settings.

I have the options enabled to replace hotbar 1 with the petbar when active, but it doesn't switch to it when I enter a pet/take control of an NPC.

The petbar instead shows up above my crossbar, and I have no way of selecting the actions on it unless I click them with my mouse manually.
