At this point im just gonna request my account be terminated and remake and boost my character back and just regrind for everything would be quicker than waiting for this outrageous suspension.depending on how inappropriate the retainer names were, its hard to say.
since we do not know all the details, or your conversation with the GM, all we can do is speculate
as a heads up, posting multiple threads on it may gift you with a forum ban as well.
just a friendly warning
I'm a recent WoW refugee who's still very new to the game, so feel free to weigh my opinion with that in mind. While I think a 20 day ban is excessive for a first time offense, merely stating " I pay to play this game" doesn't really hold water consider you're paying to have access to Square's intellectual property. Your characters aren't even yours, technically. They're Squares. You're agreeing to their terms of service when choosing to buy the game and pay your sub. You could give them thousands of dollars via mog station purchases and subscription fees, and they'd still be well within their right to permanently ban you even, assuming the violation was severe enough. You agreed to the ToS. It's the same thing in WoW, it's the same thing in any other MMO.
Let's be objective here, with that FC name, is it any real wonder that multiple people reported it? Why even walk on that tight rope in the first place? Because you thought it was funny and wanted to meme? For every person that laughs @ that guild name, there's probably someone who takes offense to it and they're within their rights to report you for it. Why even take the risk? I'm not saying don't appeal the ban, you definitely should. But, a little bit of introspection is warranted here, if we're not being intellectually dishonest with ourselves. All that said, I still think 20 days for a first offense, and a naming violation at that, is a little too severe but I don't make the rules and I certainly don't enforce them but the odds are extremely high that I'm not getting the full story here either.

Though it may come as a shock, we have GMs here. Please look forward to it, and thank you for your patronage.
This thread is a copy paste of an identical one.
Was that a mistake?
People that breaks the order of a society is those that "assumes" the consequence of the rule, then knowingly breaks it, then "I expected this punishment, I can afford it, why punish me harsher than what I expected reeeeeeeee".
Like those rich people that knowingly park their cars wherever they want, "well I expected the ticket to be less than 1,000 and my dad can pay for it! REEEEEE what? you actually arrested me REEEEE so cruel REEEEEE"
Even if you think like that, at least has the decency to hide it.

It's frightening how someone could take offence at a name you thought completely okay, not being worldly you could so innocently give your character a name that offends someone that is into world events. So I could take a dislike to someone and report their name as offensive to have them banned? Does not the GM's use their own judgement or is it a straight lynching?
I'm going to have to call my future characters '1234' and 'ABCD'. Surly they have to be safe.

You could've used any name you wanted and you went with that, you knew it would annoy others and that's your sole reason for using it. Well deserved ban.
I wouldn't give a minute of my life either to converse with someone like you.
From now on I will be googling every name I dream up for my characters. I don't keep records of all the worlds wrong doers in my head so some research will be needed. I wonder what someone would do if their birth name was actually that of which they gave their character and that name was the same as a mass murderer. Would they be at liberty to use it or would they need to hide their name for the rest of their life, or maybe use a alias? All I will say is never never use the name of a sex offender, murder, terrorist, etc As a name for anything in a MMO. You basically asked the community to report you up the wazoo. Using that name now on a new account it goes without question that in the gm's eyes it looked you are/were trying to offend people.
Sins of the father replaced by sins of the media.

So ive read one thread about this, and skimmed a second. I dont know if i would have reported your FC name, but i know i would have found it in poor taste. You also having reports in on both of your retainers doesnt super surprise me. Honestly, im like 33% surprised that a more religious player didnt report your character name too as skirting too close to a line too. Combine with your admitted verbal abuse(lucky for you that wasnt reported), and your attitude on these forums... either youre a troll who hasnt mastered subtlety or your permanent ban is just a matter of time. Good luck fighting them windmills, but if theres one thing that gets reported and taken seriously by these devs its abuse/harassment/etc that affect the community. Since you wont be here long, i guess i wont need to peak back in on this thread for replies. Cheers.
Edit: Tarryme - A normal person doesnt have to worry about something like that, because a normal person wouldnt be getting 3-5 strikes against them all at once. Someone intentionally trying to push peoples buttons? They get what they deserve.
