Or, Hildibrand already really is a Primal - the real one died before the Calamity and what crawled out of that grave is really an aether construct made from Thanalan's aether saturated soil, sustained by his zombie followers... Oh the Warrior of Light wants to slay him, but they know the world (and his parents) wouldn't be able to handle the truth....
It explains everything.
The Mandervilles are the true final bosses of FFXIV.
For the Savage version, they animate the Gold Saucer itself to stomp players flat. But we'll never see that, because first we'd have to defeat Godbert and Julyan, and even on Normal mode that will never happen.
Will wait to see a trial of giant Hildibrand wielding the Bradamante, powered by the prayers of zombies and investigation's partners.
I am still baffled by that 1.0 cutscene though, never would have guessed that's how he went to Dalamud
Hildebrand is so powerful that he doesn't need summoned. He simply exists as a demi-god among mere mortals. Godbert and Julyan though...that's where the real power is. However, even Godbert fears Julyan as any sane person should. Some mothers use their words to settle a dispute. Others their footwear. There are those who can end a conflict with just a look. She's got a frying pan that could end entire worlds.

This has legit always been my headcanon.Or, Hildibrand already really is a Primal - the real one died before the Calamity and what crawled out of that grave is really an aether construct made from Thanalan's aether saturated soil, sustained by his zombie followers... Oh the Warrior of Light wants to slay him, but they know the world (and his parents) wouldn't be able to handle the truth....

I love everything about this thread, lol
Yes to all of the above, but especially these points:
Or, Hildibrand already really is a Primal - the real one died before the Calamity and what crawled out of that grave is really an aether construct made from Thanalan's aether saturated soil, sustained by his zombie followers... Oh the Warrior of Light wants to slay him, but they know the world (and his parents) wouldn't be able to handle the truth....
It explains everything. And with that said...
Moar Hildibrand!!!
Hildebrand was much missed on the first
and they had given him a perfect "in" too
what a family... I mean Godbert can give two thieves a lifetime of indentured servitude.. and they thank him for it.
I think that family was who the Ascians were after all along, but they were too frightened to move openly against thm
I have always considered the family primals after a fashion.
-Godbert = light, he even has the power to create
-Julyan = Dark, she defiantly has the power to destroy
-Hildy = The son, who has some definate strength despite the sillyness.
-It is of my opinion, the whole light/dark thing, can be found right there in that family![]()

I did see a theory on a YouTube comment thread that said Godbert an Julyan are Hydaelyn and Zodiark in physical form.
Gamers don't die, we just go AFK
