Is Square Enix ever going to release SA servers?

I know many people might say that FFXIV is not as popular here, but at the same time I do believe they have more players in SA than in Oceania. The ping is always high and sometimes is hard to find follow south americans in servers, even though I think there is a realm where there are a lot of brazilians.

Also we can see that investment here can be a good idea, New World SA servers were the most crouded ones in the alpha (in part because there were less servers, but anyway).

Do not worry if the current influx of players holds and the Oceanic datacenter is a big success, they will surely rush to make an SA one not only to make it more convenient for SA players but to increase their overall player capacity. They are already moving up their timetable on their server upgrade projects in response to the sudden influx of players. covid19 and the chips shortage is making it a bit harder but they said in the letter they will try their best to have it moved up.

Also have to take into account SA's uuuh...questionable policies regarding foreign business taxes. The number of active subs need to make up and leave a profitable margin vs the upkeep cost of servers in the region, a problem that doesn't exist for the EU servers.

Of the region either Brasil or Chile would be the least inconvenient ones for SE to set up a data center in.

When there's enough people from SA making noise for it.. how do you think Oceania got this far? Yoshi P literally stated that it's because Oceania made enough noise (as well as generally have a very prominent presence on JP servers) that they acknowledged an Oceania data center is needed.

People from your region need to be the ones to make enough noise to convince Yoshi P and team that what you're requesting is warranted. As in, none of us from other regions can help you with this.

Pretty much the same advise I gave to a BR user that started requesting a BR Data Center the day Oceania Data Center was announced.

Invite your friends to play the game. Spread awareness to this topic through Discord, Twitter, Instagram, Twitch, etc. Encourage new SA players to join a specific world (Behemoth for example is a pseudo BR world) so that a noticeable spike in world distribution can be viewed (like Tonberry nearly doubling the population of other worlds in Japanese Data Centers due to Australian players).

Give Square Enix a number they can measure and they will definitely consider the idea. As it is right now the SA community is spread across the NA and EU data centers and barely have any active voice in the forums (the previous topic I mentioned barely gained 6 pages of reply in more than a month before dieing).

I don't wanna think about what servers they'd migrate to SA.

Not in near future i guees. im BR and everytime i show this game to friends or tell how good this game is, they say "wait, do i have to pay to have game AND pay sub? no thanks"

Theres a lot brazillians in 14, but not enouth to make noise. Most like game free to play (no matter how many times i tell them that f2p games cost more money in long term than sub games)

I have a friend that spent ton of money to buy every skin in street fighter game, but say that 14 its expensive. I saved mutch money just playing this game and not buying another full price 300 reais games. I dont have a collection of ps4 games neither phisical collector edition stuff.
