Blue Mage - Addle & Surecast keep disappearing after saving/loading skill sets

Every time I save/load an active skill set, Addle and Surecast buttons will frequently disappear from my hotbar (It doesn't always happens, but happens at a very high frequency). Does anyone else have the same problem?

The same problem is occurring with Super-Potion and Super-Ether as well for me.

Is this a bug that needs to be fixed in the game?

Your skill sets each have their own hotbar, so you have to save your hotbar to your active set again after placing Addle, Surecast etc.

PS: do you have any affected hotbar on shared?

Yes, I understand each skill set has its own hotbar.
Yes, I have saved hotbar to an active set again after placing Addle, Surecast etc. I tested this thoroughly.
No, none of those are shared hotbars.

I have tested this quite thoroughly, and yet those buttons are still disappearing (while the other buttons of each individual skill set would be recalled correctly).

The last thing I can suggest is checking your profile folder (or sub-folders/files) properties. It might be write protected, thus not being able to be overwritten. I've had it a few times in the past, and not just with FFXIV.

if you have surecast on a different slot on a different preset, it can be overwritten by a spell

Ahh, maybe that is the problem! I'll test this out! Thanks!

Yes, it was indeed the problem!

Basically, the root problem is that when we press the "load" button, it doesn't actually load up a "hotbar" that you made. It only loads up all the BLU skills button locations that were previously saved. Thus, any skill that is not a BLU skill will be overwritten by the BLU skills. Then when you load up a different set, if that set had Addle or Surecast on the same hotbar, those would be "erased" by the previous set's BLU skill buttons (because role skills were not saved at all by the "save" button!!!).

To avoid this problem, role skills should be placed on a separate hotbar from the BLU skill hotbars. Alternatively, save 1 or 2 spots on the BLU skill hotbar for the role skill buttons, but make sure every set has those 2 buttons at the same place.

Thank you very much for the help, Neihel! <3
