Sugestion: Gold Saucer addition of Pachinko!

So, casinos are fun, so are arcades. Gold saucer has it all but why not something else to spam?

Seeing how gambling in itself is big nono, and in japan the laws around it are super nono. And it can be addicting, but hear me out.

How about making it so that you can only put X amount of MGP towards pachinko pr week, you can be lucky and win and keep playing, or should you lose it all you have to wait to weekly reset, as so to make one not ending up maybe gambling away all the MGP saved up.

Would be a lot of fun i think, specially since I love gambling, slots and pachinko is super fun and popular in japan as well from before hand

I think it's better if the gold saucer be about minigames, and less about actual gambling.

This is why Pachinko would be great.

In Japan gabmling is banned, absolutely no go. That is why pachinko is a thing since its more arcade than gambling. Originating with the old pinball machines where you pull a lever to send a marble flying and try to get it into the basket with the most points. You find pachinko in most arcades in Japan, and you'll find them in quite a number of US arcades as well as arcades across the globe too.

Everyone I know we grew up loving to play pachinko on boards we made ourselves with marbles and making baskets with nails.

So it would absolutely fit the gold saucer as its originated from arcade games, and is today a very popular arcade game.

I mean it's treated in universe as a big casino. They explicitly said the only reason we haven't gotten more explicitly gambling games is because certain regions have laws against gambling in videogames. So instead of poker we got mahjong

And pachinko gets around this with a lovely technicality: it's not gambling if you can't win money. You win balls which you appraise for things like milk, cigarettes, a new TV, etc. But you can't turn your balls into straight cash so it's technically not recognized as gambling by the Japanese government.

Which is cool and all but it's basically gambling. And either way I'd rather not see "technically not gambling" in my videogames either. If I wanted that I'd be playing an EA game and gobbling down their "surprise mechanics."

Yet here we are using every other arcade game for the exact same points ingame as in irl arcades (where pachinko also exists) to get fake points to get prices (US arcades has this too, with claw machines, and whackamole and any other arcade game you can think of.). Pachinko would obviously use MGP just like every other arcade game if that was not clear, it would not be possible to go at pachinko with gil. And there is no way of making MGP -> Gil. Pachinko is not a random RNG machine where you hope to get 3 7's for the jackpot, that is called a slot machine. Pachinko litterally launches a ball bearing in hopes of getting it to land in the correct slot. and most lets you adjust the power you put on the ball bearing as well. (if you don't have any arcade near you with pachinko that would be odd, but you could always make your own as it only needs marbles, nails, a flat board, and a spring and its a lot of fun.

Pachinko is treated as a arcade game because it is a arcade game. in Japan it just happens to be their go to arcade game where you get said fake points (like any arcade in any country in the world) and they take those points buy something and exchange it for money in another store. You can do the same with any arcade in the world, not just japan and pachinko. Hell arcades in USA are arguably far more enticing luring kids in to waste tonnes of money in hopes of winning ipads, iphones or other high value tech which is rigged to never trigger, and if it does trigger they usually get kicked out

If you want a truly gamble free experience like you say you should vouch for closing the gold saucer entierly since after all you do have mahjong which in asia is used more as poker, than poker itself in a lot of places :P

    Make pachinko great again! <3

The connection I was trying to make was between how they are both technically not gambling my dude.
Not to mention that Pachinko is still as addicting and bank account wiping as loot boxes my dude.

    Incorrect.
When I frequented arcades when I lived in Japan pachinko was next to the "not-slot machines" in an adult section of the arcade, not next to the arcade games.
Doesn't matter what arcade I went (Round 1, Penny Pot, the Sega Arcade in Akihabara, etc.) they were never placed with other arcade games, always in a segregated area.
Heck, I once went to a Boobytrap concert in an abandoned casino. Guess what was there: pachinko.
