dont close launcher on launch

an option for it would be fine. i hate launchers that close. if i want it closed I will close it.
most of the reason I stay logged in all the time is so I don't have to reopen the stupid launcher.

if it would just not close everytime, needing the password and token code *every time*, it would be so much more convenient to close the game.
if security is a concern...but a HUGE warning thing to accept when enabling it. maybe require a relog every 24 hours or something?

Use it for what? The launcher doesn't actually do anything besides launch them game. If you're looking for a way to bypass the security token then why not just disable it? It's not required.

actually, the launches does a few other other things beside launch the game, but that's irrelevant. I don't want to bypass the token or disable it, i just want to be able to close the game when Im not currently using it, and reopen it when I need it, without having to token in every time. then I could log in once when I start my computer, like many other games do. a better way would be to remember a computer and not need the token on it, but that's more complex to implement i would imagine.


currently, I log out and click "configuration", which prevents the cinematic from playing, but if the launcher just didnt close, that would be unnecessary. on the login screen the game is still using most of the local system resources it does while logged in.

Sounds to me like you want the benefits of the token without actually using one. Doesn't work that way. You'll have to remove your token if you want to sign on quicker (by quicker, I mean a whole 2 secs.)

From what year are you even responding. I use two factor authentication on all my accounts (google, steam, outlook, twitter, instagram, and what not). Not a single app or website requires you to reenter neither your code or password everytime you use it. ffxiv seriously needs to implement this, it's use is draconic.

I agree with one thing. If I am from new IP this is when it should ask token or every 30 days but not all the time. It's so stupid to make like this. Maybe people who share pc with kids could concern but you will give a separate account for kids. Sometimes I log in 3 times or 4 times to make a free slot in the server for someone else to log in and play, but why do I have to pay that price when I want to do good to others?

They should think smarter rather than giving only one choice which is "forcing players every time you open the launcher you have to enter a token". I like other games launcher which developed to not annoy players but also give security to accounts.

I'd have to agree to this as well. I don't necessarily want to bypass the authenticator but on the same hand... I would prefer to have the launcher tied to the key so that I don't have to continuously keep entering it. Heaven forbid the game crashes or your internet goes down for a min. It shouldn't be hard to create a launcher that runs in the back like most games have already.
