Need more Hildibrand

My guess they planned Hildibrand for ShB but then government lockdowns happened.

They said they thought he was getting stale and couldn't find any story ideas that made sense in context with Shadowbringers. While they gave it thought, I wouldn't say it was actually planned then abandoned.

They also seem to keep underestimating just how much a large part of the player base enjoy him. He's a nice piece of comic relief to offset what sometimes gets dark.

I was a bit disappointed to not have a Hildibrand storyline with Shadowbringers. Though I guess I can see the reason why from a story telling perspective. We didnt really get a new region in our world and instead crossed over to another shard. While alot of the Hildibrand story contains a fair amount of nonsense having them end up on another shard would probably have pushed it a bit too far.

Then again one version of Gilgamesh that we saw in their mobile game FF Mobius was able to break the 4th wall and appeared to know about events, locations, and characters from every game in the series lol. When asked about how long the stories are he says something like "Oh its about 15 chapters not counting spin offs and side stories"

He's traveling with Gilgamesh, this is the same greg that was in the other final fantasy games. Not a different version of him THIS one, all the games, same greg. He's a known shard hopper, they set that up in advance so they COULD have an excuse he'd be on the first. And yes, that includes the mobius one, so that means all of the gregs are 4th wall aware as well.

They said the reason for not doing it was they didn't have any good ideas for it and didn't want to force it. SB Hildy already felt a bit forced and doing something more forced and half assed would only irritate players. I'm glad they postponed it so we could get more quality Hildy quests in EW.
