    Red Mage AOE

    Hello all. hope you all havign a nice day.

    Well here i am a little baffeled about red mage, we have 3 singel target combofinishers. Why? lol in all seriousness why are them all singletarget. Verholy and Verflare ? are both singel target why not make say verholy a aoe and have verfalre as singeltarget.? That give the player more flexibility," and it makes more sence. When doing group content to either burst on aoe or singel target.

    Yes we might have more aoe than many but verthunder and veraero just feels bad to cast. "( my opinion that is )" so i would rather see them both go and get verholy or verflare as aoe instead.

    That was all i had on my hearth here, other than that Red mage is super fun to play.

    Because RDM is all about balancing Black and White magic.
    I don't know if you noticed, but you also have two regular combos as well. Thunder > Fire, and Aero > Stone.

    Why does Verthunder II and Veraero II 'feel bad to cast'? And why would Verholy in their place change anything?

    i dont know really i cant put my finger on why i feel they are not good to cast. Might just be me " most likly me" but there is just somting that gnaw at me when pressing thous buttons. But yes i understand the balancing, but how often are you in need to balance when droping the finisher, as that restart the bar ? It would not mean anything if one is aoe or other is singeltarget. it still need the same amount of adjustment from the player.
    My point is only that it is strange that all finishers are singeltarget and not one is aoe. Not about the balance and class in generall as that is perfet as is. My problem is the aoe.

    I understand what you're saying. Several classes have AoE "combos" and the Rdm AoE feels almost tacked on. Their aoe range is also very small and they're not very good at building resource. The damage feels low enough where it almost feels more efficient to burn down with your single targets even with larger amount of enemies. I don't think every class needs strong aoe but I understand what you're saying.

    Making combo finishers AoE would be nice for 2-target phases in certain fights, might mess with enchanted moulinet maybe but I can't be bothered to look at the math.

    I actually do think that whatever skill alisae used in latest patch, with rose petals, will be our aoe finisher

    That was just Moulinet with 3 flowers added to it. I mean, I wouldn’t mind if they upgraded Moulinet visuals for red mage too, but that being the only upgrade to aoe would feel kind of underwhelming imo.

    AOE builds gauge slowly, there's no randomness or thinking about what to cast next like you have in single-target play, and when you finally get to the "unleash melee phase" state it's just a single button.

    The simplest resolution might be to build the gauge quicker and have Moulinet cost more, so you're at least weaving in and out more.

    And/or replace Impact with AOE equivalents to Stone/Fire and keep doing that gauge management.
