We also don't have 'only three' female outfits form previous games, either. Bozja added some glamour sets modeled after female characters such as Penelo.
    Yeah, that makes 3 lol.

Fran is race specific and more Viera anyway than her specifically.

    Name the others.

Lightning, Yuna, and penelo are it.

Good. I like Snow's outfit and don't want to dress up my character to look like Lightning by virtue of the fact that he's a guy.

Not only does it look revolting, but also in ESO where it's possible it is used by random trolls to make ridiculous looking characters in which they run around and meme about "for the lulz".
    Couldn't agree more!

Actually, as a Japanese person with characters on both JPN and NA servers, I think the disconnect that often happens is that people believe that just because a game has international audience that it has to have the same cultural norms of other countries. In Japan, one will hardly ever, ever see a man dressing as a woman, except for otokonoko types (what the Westerners call 'traps'), which is a totally fringe group. While I respect these people for living how they desire, the fact is Japan is very, very conservative still. In work, you're even told what color suits you may wear, women are told what color hair they are allowed to have, etc. I get it that many Western cultures are really relaxed and allow everyone to just be however they like, but please also try to respect that Yoshi-P has gone out of his way to address many of the things that the mostly Western audience wanted even though it may have not really been as appreciated by the Japanese community (like, I believe, male bunny suits?). Yes, it is an international game, but it is informed by the culture of those that produce it and who have probably lived with Japanese cultural norms all of their lives.

These outfits or dresses are designed with the female or feminine form in mind. While I do think more options are generally for the best, if SE is going to use resources, I'd like to see things like the hempen sets converted for everyone first. Like, I get that some people want to wear dresses on their buff roes or hrothgar, but it's probably a minority of players who would actually use these pieces. Unfortunately SE doesn't have unlimited resources.

He's not arguing for female outfits for males, but more to do with how the outfits were handled for Nier for males.

Then why, pray tell, do they keep engaging players on Twitter for feedback? While I agree that they should stick to their vision, on a forum frequented by people paying for the product you can expect that you will see many asking for specific things out of the game. Obviously there is disagreement over that. Let's not pretend, though, that they're indifferent to feedback when they provide venues to extract it...

I vehemently agree with this. It literally stresses out the devs to have to work on twice as much gear by having to make them fit on both genders. These devs are already stressed the hell out.

A better solution would be to put a male symbol in front of all females and a female symbol in front of all males. It's not a perfect solution but it's a good temporary one until they can monetarily justify doing twice as much work.

It's when you try do both at once that it becomes costlier. If they can readily incur that cost? Fine, but I don't believe that is the case given their constant reminders about how resource-constrained they are. That is when it can become a case of one or the other, and then concerns about the aesthetic of the unisex outfits come into play.

    "this would be cool" Feedback.

"this is the way it should be because it's the current year" Demand.

The vast majority don't want that garbage in the game.

My point was about how they handled the nier outfits. They gave out a female coffer for a 2b glam and gave males nothing in return. They constantly give out female exclusive outfits on mogstation. Caster and healer glams are heavily feminine even for males. Hairstyles lately have been either feminine or androgynous. Female characters are as i said, heavily pandered to.
