STOP Genderlocking Cosmetics!!

Alot of people are quick to play the homo/trans-phobia card. I'm all for genderlocking because I don't find it appealing to see males run around in female slutmogs. (I'm not even a fan of slutmogs in general)
I'd prefer it if they added more good glam options for males in general because we are severely lacking options compared to females in this game. It's always the usual female gear slightly adjusted to fit on males and it shows.

I think the ffxiv team is more likely to accept feedback if they are requests for something to be added rather than a request to exclude things. Instead of trying to restrict what people can and cannot wear, why not request what you would like to see available? It's not as if I wouldn't like to see cooler outfits for male characters as well. More masculine glamour options would be great. But I also don't want to restrict what other people can wear.

As a gay dude I agree with this. It really grosses me out when people throw around the homophobia/transphobic card just because they're trying to get their way... It's embarrassing. Masculine options in both character customization and glamour is lacking, we need more of a variety and right now it's leaning too much towards the opposing side.

Yup agreed, also as a gay guy. Im tired of seeing the constant feminine outfits or "gender neutral" outfits that lean towards feminine. Masculine outfits and styles are pretty rare, especially if you play a healer. I'd say wait for that to get balanced before asking for dev time to be put towards taking off genderlocks of other gear. They couldnt even give us the 9s outfit for the nier raid, instead we only got the 2b outfit which is entirely feminine

For me, I honestly don't care what people are. I'm a girl and I wanted 9S outfit too.
I just think people should be able to wear whatever they please in my honest opinion. Peoples sexuality on the matter doesn't matter to me as they're just clothes.

BTW, back in the 90s, when I pretended to be a man, I would often wear stripped tights with shorts, in a very gender neutral and gothic look.

Those pics remind me of something I said in a similar thread ages ago: While an entire outfit set may lean feminine or maculine, the individual pieces can be used in either or quite effectively. It really throws out the idea that removing gender lock would give us less variety when good glams are made from mixing and matching to produce a desired look.

Much of the glam in this game is very feminine, and I wouldn't mind more masculine gear in general. It would also be nice if they would stop slapping bows and frills on perfectly good glams to go "This is now for ladies. Our job here is done." Either make a completely unique glam or don't tease me with the lesser version of a suit. It breaks my heart every time.

Better yet, just let us use it all.
