Wat.
What are you talking about lol.
What '' bras and panties ''?
The closest thing is the 2B legs and it's meant to be a leotard but is just a separate piece.
Female gear in the game is already significantly more varied than it is for male characters, it's not an actual problem for female characters at all just because some gear is different on female characters doesn't change this it's just a fact if you actually look at the gear in the game.
Adding more feminine or skimpy gear to male character actually adds more variety to male characters, adding more pants and shirts to female characters wouldn't it'd be more of the same and what like 95% of the gear is.
And when we got stuff like the Noctis outfit it was the same for female characters there's not a conspiracy here as you seem to be implying.
There are people who want to wear feminine or skimpy outfits, it tends to more often than not lean towards female characters ( for women who play the game too btw ).
Probably a lot of reasons why there's a lot of stigma towards men being seen as sexual and showing off in a way more aimed at gay men and women but I fail to see why SE giving people who want that options is a problem.
Female characters already have all kinds of options at their disposal.
You're reading so much into it based on very specific examples and your own feelings about not getting what you want in a particular case.
You think the complete dismissal of FtM trans people by media and hollywood is a conspiracy?
Do you not have eyes?
I'm a fan of more options, more options is good. As to your edit, yeah I've noticed that the Forum Devs don't censor the bigots. I've reported most over the years, and nothing has ever stopped them. Which is rather annoying, as in game if someone said the same, or if they said it on twitch they would be banned from the game. These forums are like mos eisley due to the lack of moderation.

Also just to clarify, this isnt really a discussion.
They've objectively put far more work into making traditionally feminine "sexy glamours" available to male presenting characters and releasing uwu bunny boys as soon as possible than they have into the opposite for female presenting characters and we still dont even know when female hrothgar are coming. This is just fact.

If you are FTM, wouldn't you roll a male toon? And MTF would roll a female toon?
I'm honestly confused, especially since I happen to know several people in that scenario, and they play the character genders they feel more in tune with. This includes a family member of mine who plays.
I would love to see the reasoning behind the argument, because so far it doesn't make a single jot of sense.

Depends on how you want to present. The fact that we are discussing it this way just proves they havent done shit to remove the binary. If you are FTM, wouldn't you roll a male toon? And MTF would roll a female toon?

All they've done is given frilly stockings and sexy feminine looks to male characters (because that's what Kotaku and Polygon will be happiest with) and called it a day. From there they've moved on to giving female characters their Otaku approved Waifu outfits and allowing male characters to wear them.

The reason it is gender locked is cause most other countries don't deal with and or don't care about this stuff.
Besides I thought a recent update addressed this.
Alot of people are quick to play the homo/trans-phobia card. I'm all for genderlocking because I don't find it appealing to see males run around in female slutmogs. (I'm not even a fan of slutmogs in general)
I'd prefer it if they added more good glam options for males in general because we are severely lacking options compared to females in this game. It's always the usual female gear slightly adjusted to fit on males and it shows.
Can't female characters wear most masculine looking gear in the game already? Or am I missing something
I think the ffxiv team is more likely to accept feedback if they are requests for something to be added rather than a request to exclude things. Instead of trying to restrict what people can and cannot wear, why not request what you would like to see available? It's not as if I wouldn't like to see cooler outfits for male characters as well. More masculine glamour options would be great. But I also don't want to restrict what other people can wear.
