STOP Genderlocking Cosmetics!!

I and many do all the time on these forums. Players were recently 'rewarded' with male viera, and the (promised?) future addition of female hrothgar, and they seem to be now creating hairstyles and trying to make it easier to add them in general for viera. After players asked 'better', or more, from SE. However, players should also be thinking realistically. Having every single set 'ungenderlocked' as well, after now the addition of the missing viera/hrothgar genders? They stated how much extra work goes into a newly added player race, and now not only are they fitting everything to these new races, players want them to double their workload?

With how fast modders work to fit a given outfit to a different race or gender, I do wonder how much heavier it would make the workload, especially if they hopefully have been getting more hires. (Who am I kidding, the funds are being channeled towards SE's next big flop).

Though as a paying customer, the removal of genderlock is one of the things I want the most so I'm gonna support the thread.

Like look, if there was somehow a way for both genders to use previously locked gear and what would have been locked moving forward, without any compromises made to the rest of the game, I'd be for it as well. I might even use some pieces that were for males. I just don't think that would be the case - at least not prior to that supposed engine upgrade.

See you in 4 years minimum for the "engine upgrade next expantion". I wouldn't expect a corrected version of aura or elezen, it's like asking for a new race again.

The more their attention is diffused, the longer it will take. I would put it at a minimum of 2 years (i.e. 7.0+) given that they're now more seriously considering how to move ahead with it, as well as upgrading the textures, which they say they're also planning to do.

As to the latter point, an engine upgrade is actually a good opportunity to do that. Granted, it has its risks, but overall we've seen other MMOs do it quite successfully. Allowing some races to have their potential stifled because of certain flaws is to me more detrimental. Of course, you need to do proper research for that kind of thing to determine in which direction it's likely to take you, but again, they've got more than enough resources to do it. Instincts etc. are great but sometimes it's good to back it up with research. How many people will be upset for example if we change the weird Elezen proportions, but how many players could that race increase by in turn? They're open questions and I think it's wrongheaded to refuse to consider such possibilities before considering the data to determine the cost/benefit. Particularly since an engine upgrade should make such adjustments less costly.

Yeah i agree that many ppl love the races as they are and i like au ra and miqote even if i see some things that i don't like that mutch. I think they can add more without just deleting all the things that ppl like already.
One example is the height difference between males and females au ra : Why not make a smaller version of male and taller version of females (making the height difference smaller without destroying the spirit or the race)? Something similar to Hyurs highlanders and Midlanders, but choosing the colors of the scales+skin color = choosing your clan just like now.
Making customizations choices avaidable to all faces (horns for au ra) or even different races (for beard or scars) would be cool as well.
It's not something they HAVE to do, there's other things they could do but it would be great and add more variations between the characters.
But with how mutch difficulty they have with viera and hrothgars i don't think we will get more than better textures and maybe new facial options for eatch race (and it's great already don't get me wrong ^^)

I actually like au ra as they are, I just need the miqo'te hempen top, and for SE to add more glamour pieces I like. I don't see why they would need to touch elezen either, they are fine as they are, or rather, we are beyond a "correction" at this point in the game's lifespan. If anything I would rather just see them add a half elezen playable race, like Hilda. Anyway, I mean, I wouldn't be an ardent supporter of this request or anything, I'd just leave a post saying like: "yeah, sure whatever" at that point, if it was possible.
