Yeah, i really don’t see why they didn’t just create a male version of it, especially since according to yoshi, designing the female design for males made the devs “uncomfortable.” Then like…don’t be lazy and make a male version instead lmao.

OP wants genderlock to be removed, that doesn't mean less traditionally masculine glamours, they don't cancel each other out, nor does it mean more "unisex" glamour. Additionally a lot of glamours considered unisex in fact seem to heavily lean on the masculine side, because it's acceptable for women to wear what used to be exclusively masculine clothing while the opposite isn't.
SE isn't even doing earholes for miqo'te and barely does bows or whatever to hide tail clipping on sets. If the genderlock was entirely removed for all sets moving forward, we would probably get less outfit variation overall.

I think the confusion came with the way people were wording the request. "We want a male bunny suit" isn't the equivalent of "we want a male version of the bunny suit". Though to be fair a Chip'N Dales outfit is easy to pull off as is. All you'd be missing is the bowtie collar.

And I really think people should ask better from SE especially with the growing popularity of XIV rather than put each other's wishes down in fear of a drop in quality. We should be able to get more new things without other aspects of the game or system suffering for it in the future because the game is not stagnating, whether we will or not is something else.

In my case, I don't care how an outfit is gendered, if it looks good on my character's figure or compliments the rest of the outfit for things like shoes or hats, I'd like to have it.
I exclusively have mogstation outfits locked for males in my glamour dresser because I have been playing a male au ra for easily over 97% of my playtime (who have a pretty feminine figure btw), I can't use at the time I'm writing this, even if they aren't inherently masculine, or even trade at a salvager, they're effectively wasting inventory slots and are unusable unless I give SE even more money. It is what it is but that doesn't seem very consumer-friendly at all.

I share a lot of the "not enough masculine stuff" woes, but I also very much wish glamour wouldn't be locked by gender or jobs and would give the players more options to make nice glamour.
I'm sorry to say that, but you're talking to a wall. They don't hear you, don't listen you, neither they want to.

People are free to disagree with subjective opinions.

Furthermore, I'd argue that the concerns being raised as a counter to the unlock are more than valid when removing the gender lock on hairstyles led to less options for those of us who like traditionally masculine aesthetics.

Nobody is obligated to bend over backwards to support niche aesthetics at every possible turn. Variety is the spice of life and it's time the pendulum began swinging in the other direction once more, even if it's only temporarily.

That should be taken care of and resources should be put towards that first instead of a niche option that only benefits a minority.
From my roaming through various threads on this forum over the years people make it seem like ungenderlocking has been the longest, most sought after feature ever, but I dunno. Personally I prefer to have unique things for each gender/race and removing that removes any reason to have different genders/races. Ultimately if the devs decide to go through with it more power to them. Just so long as they do it of their own accord and not because of the shrieking minority.

I mean i do agree with this. It seems to be an unpopular opinion with the overall community but really, we should be seeing major improvements each expansion. ShB as a whole just felt like downgrade after downgrade. From glams, to raids, to story etc. I agree with you that we should be able to get things without losing out on other things, especially given how much money this expansion has made. Unfortunately though that just doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen. The team itself isn’t very transparent, so we know very little about the going-ons in the background. I wouldn’t be surprised though if a lot of our funds are being shoveled into other SE projects. I mean, we lost members of the HW team to be put towards ff16. If they had stayed who knows what improvements we could have seen.

I and many do all the time on these forums. Players were recently 'rewarded' with male viera, and the (promised?) future addition of female hrothgar, and they seem to be now creating hairstyles and trying to make it easier to add them in general for viera. After players asked 'better', or more, from SE. However, players should also be thinking realistically. Having every single set 'ungenderlocked' as well, after now the addition of the missing viera/hrothgar genders? They stated how much extra work goes into a newly added player race, and now not only are they fitting everything to these new races, players want them to double their workload?

However, they would definitely be butthurt if we went on a crusade to make them wear very feminine nun-like robes all the time haha. No pants allowed, no tight fitting clothes on females allowed!

When community managers look at data they should consider who is actually going to use what they're asking for and who is not; it's critical in Marketing, Research, and Data analysis for them to be able to understand these factors. Unfortunately I don't think their staff is that deep.
Indeed, neither perusing Twitter (also reddit etc) nor the forum is going to get you that information. They're a large enough company with skilled enough staff and more than enough resources to undertake such research. While I would like to think they do this, I do sometimes have my doubts...

That plus they're hinting at a future engine upgrade plus also upgrading the textures. The former in particular may ease this kind of task if it's ever completed and would be a far superior investment to focus on ahead of diversions of their resources catering to very niche requests. They already seem to be strained from all the projects they're engaged in and I imagine future-proofing the game given the lifespan they now aspire towards is a big priority.
