Fact of the matter is things are already weighted poorly between the genders. The last thing we need is a third party wanting to ungenderlock things to weigh that even more poorly. It’s a decision that would affect 90% of players. Vs the niche additions of ungenderlocked gear that would affect a much much smaller portion.
Personally I don't consider anything requested as a "waste of resources". What bugs me is the way in which people go about those requests. While I don't really care for the notion of perpetuating "nonconformity", more glamour options isn't a bad thing. However, I would prefer something like that to be solely the decision of the developers.

However, they would definitely be butthurt if we went on a crusade to make them wear very feminine nun-like robes all the time haha. No pants allowed, no tight fitting clothes on females allowed!

When community managers look at data they should consider who is actually going to use what they're asking for and who is not; it's critical in Marketing, Research, and Data analysis for them to be able to understand these factors. Unfortunately I don't think their staff is that deep.
It's funny that when the bunny suit and wedding dress were made available to both genders I only saw a handful of people actually wearing them and then after about a month practically nobody wore them. The novelty wore off and it was back to business as usual.
