STOP Genderlocking Cosmetics!!

Is "making attires not genderlocked will consume massive resources to be developed" a real thing that the dev team spoke of or is it just assumption? Have the dev team spoke about this before?

Many people think one not gender locked attire is less work. It's the same. BUT for people who don't want some kind of crossdressing, it means they have to build an alternative design, then it's twice of work.

Now, for Ryne dress, it's twice more work since it's a woman body based shape they have to adapt to the different male body shapes. The reason is topology, skeletons and shape keys are not the same for both genders. Copy past is not really the best idea when you work with two topologies.

From what I know they have 19 models (NPC and playable characters), 15 for playable characters. It means for one unisex top, they have to be sure it works on 15 body shapes.

Yoko was mainly messing around, but at the same time Yoshida didn't seem to be specifically ironical when he said that adding Pod as a mount shouldn't be too difficult, so... I wouldn't roll out the posibility of some sort of continuation completely, although it probably won't happen (any time soon, at least, given that they don't plan collabs of this scale for 6.0).

It's not a solution. If somebody wants their character of a very specific gender to wear a very specfic piece of cloth, making an alt won't solve the issue at hand. At all. They will now just have two characters one of whom can't wear one type of clothes and another can't wear another type of clothes. Nothing changed, only got more headache to deal with.

If it's just a matter of adding the Pod mount, there's no need to invent more content just for that. I would more expect it to be added as a prize to one of the existing raids once they stop being current and they need a new reason to lure people into it.

Fair, they might do it this way. Would be a pretty logical step, too.

Though they talked about the story itself as well:

It's not "yes" and might be mainly a jut from Yoko, but... mmmmm... I guess it would be still correct to say that if there's indeed a demand and if they can scrap budget for this - they might actually do something. But if they ever do, I personally wouldn't expect it in 6.0 or its patches. Maybe some time in the future, or maybe not.

I feel like the NieR collaboration has had too much confused/negative response overall to seriously continue it. I hope that response is just an extremely polite way of saying no.

They've dropped talk of further collaborations and returned to original content for Endwalker side stories, at least.

Please SE keep things like they are now, i don't wanna see a male muscle mountain like Roaegadyn or Hrothgar roaming around in Miniskirts or Girls dresses and trolling everyone with their sexual diversity. The modded pictures from the OP are more than enough to show everyone why they should avoid something like this at all costs. If you mod your client so that only you can see it yourself its fine, but dont force us to look at something like this. Their is allready enough diversity idiotism in RL going on where i live, i dont need stuff like that in a game that i want to enjoy and relax. Thanks.

Those are not modded, those are already in the game's files and so are the thavnairian bustier and maid outfit for males. They were all added around the same time as the wedding dress but not released at the same time, some became officially released across the last few patches, some have yet to become available in game. So you're definitely going to end up seeing more traditionally feminine outfit options for men, too bad.

Well than i guess im lucky that i didnt saw any of them so far. If this stuff really will get more frequent i do hope they add an option to turn that kind of glamour off for the oposite sex. Its 100times better to see a Hrothgar in just his underpans than is some pink magical girl dress or stuff like that. I understand that a lot of long pants also look good on female models or stuff like tank tops or shirts, but that same cant be said (from my view) for stuff like skirts or long dresses like the thavaniran stuff for men.

Unfortunate seeing that the men have seen less and less masculine options over the course of the game. I guess that’s just this generation though. Gotta make everything feminine, same with male viera. Sigh

I mean, tbf those are not new, just previously genderlocked glamour they are unlocking, and likewise the male-only equivalent of those sets have an unlocked versions somewhere in the game files, whether they're officially released yet or not.
