As stated, wishful thinking. And you certainly don’t have to respond to every post I make with your same response about my opinions and musings.

I certainly can; moreover, it brought new information.
Keep it masculine for males
Keep it feminine for females
It's why there's 2 choices; make an alt if you want both options.
I kinda agree with them though, there are items that aren't necessarily gendered, but are still genderlocked because they're part of a set - Ryne's boots and Y'shtola's feather thingies as the most recent examples.
At least none of them are predominantly white/pastel, with boob windows, tight corsets, or exposed collarbone/shoulder area

Or stick to selling whole sets but just make the boots and gloves unisex, like the Expeditioner sets originally had those pieces unisex even though the tops and pants(es?) were gendered.
They already essentially have that approach with the Aymeric costume where the hairstyle is unisex even though the outfit isn't.
And in practice it's there for things like the Mheg Deaca where people might not touch the fairy gown with a barge pole but they want the circlet and boots. Or really, any time anyone buys a whole outfit just for one piece.
And that is why people with a mind for historical clothing see a lot less imbalance to feminine outfits here...
Another one that jumps to mind is Lyse's set – unique gloves, sabatons that exist as a player model already and, particularly, unique earrings that would need no adaptation work.
Also the ARR Scion sets which again all exist as player models. They're not really exciting outfits overall, of course, but would give a few currently role-locked pieces to use for all classes – getting the caligae models to equip on mages, for example.
Cid's goggles as well.
I gave the solution though; alt of the opposite gender.
Thing is, the FFXIV devs keep telling us they have to cut things in order to do anything. The fact that we're only getting male viera first and female hrothgar who knows when speaks to this. We don't have time to be telling them we want boots a female npc uses. We don't get to pick and choose what gear pieces we want them to make for the opposite gender.
As a professional company they would have to recreate the entire Ryne glam for male characters.

WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?

Yoko was mainly messing around, but at the same time Yoshida didn't seem to be specifically ironical when he said that adding Pod as a mount shouldn't be too difficult, so... I wouldn't roll out the posibility of some sort of continuation completely, although it probably won't happen (any time soon, at least, given that they don't plan collabs of this scale for 6.0).
It's not a solution. If somebody wants their character of a very specific gender to wear a very specfic piece of cloth, making an alt won't solve the issue at hand. At all. They will now just have two characters one of whom can't wear one type of clothes and another can't wear another type of clothes. Nothing changed, only got more headache to deal with.

If it's just a matter of adding the Pod mount, there's no need to invent more content just for that. I would more expect it to be added as a prize to one of the existing raids once they stop being current and they need a new reason to lure people into it.Yoko was mainly messing around, but at the same time Yoshida didn't seem to be specifically ironical when he said that adding Pod as a mount shouldn't be too difficult, so... Fair, they might do it this way. Would be a pretty logical step, too.
Though they talked about the story itself as well:
It's not "yes" and might be mainly a jut from Yoko, but... mmmmm... I guess it would be still correct to say that if there's indeed a demand and if they can scrap budget for this - they might actually do something. But if they ever do, I personally wouldn't expect it in 6.0 or its patches. Maybe some time in the future, or maybe not.Q: Will there be a continuation of this story?
Yoko "If you pay me, sure. We can do that in a bar"
Y "We had a lot of people in our dev team who had played Yoko-Sans games, that influenced the design and mechanics a lot, so we are interested. As long as we get the budget.... we might do something"
