I would pay money in a heartbeat for a Lulu outfit. However, if I saw a Ro dude running around in it, I would puke in my mouth.
Yeah lowkey the most irritating thing is those sets where the same exact gear looks different between the genders, and there's no way to get both versions. Especially annoying with the Nier gear. A lot of it just flat looks way better on female characters, but then there's a few pieces that I'd definitely rather have the guys' version for. Like the freakin. Scrunchie gloves. Also the guys' Makai aiming set is great. The only things holding me back from wanting to jump straight to bunny boy in EW is, well, the hair and hats, and the fact that most of the fem locked gear just looks... better??? In general??? Like... seriously. Was so much harder to put together an outfit I was really happy with for the like, 3 weeks I played cat boy this expansion.

There's 2 fundamentals at play.
1. Most of us choose male characters for male looks.
2. Having to make Ryne's outfit both genders, for example would require twice as much work. That's the last thing we want, these devs haven't even finished female hrothgar yet and are behind on high res textures, and character creator.
Exactly. I play a male character because i want to look and feel like a male character. That’s not to say some people think differently but they’re very much the minority and it’s a very niche thing. But it’s very frustrating to see males get the short end of the stick constantly especially this expansion. There's 2 fundamentals at play.

Using 3rd party tools you can put every male item on a female character, however, most will be warped to be a scaled down midlander male (ie. flat chested). I believe its because the game recognizes male mids as the "standard", as gloves and shoes are predominantly male midlander based. So those discord images are less a case of "all costumes are fitted and wearable for females" and more "the 3rd party tool makes the game confused and now it assumes you're just a weird shaped midlander male".
as for the 2B set that is regularly brought up in these threads, iirc Yoko Taro was the one who pushed for the unisex 2B glam set. Would we have gotten a 9S set had he not? Who knows.
Yes, though I wouldn't want to make that a sub-topic within the OP, it brings more confusion.Exactly. I play a male character because i want to look and feel like a male character. We'll get our version of Ryne's costume soon enough; might be Exarch's robes or something else. I honestly really like all the crafted sets they've added and how they look on male characters; a lot of armors like the Judge armors for example look a thousand times better on males for example. But again let's start a new topic about that somewhere else.
My frustration in general with gear is that even if it's equippable by everyone, female outfits a lot of the time have something that makes it worse to me, skirt or otherwise.
I’d rather take the penalty for leaving a instance then be forced to heal a Hrothgar DRK in a revealing pink dress
No thanks
My wol is a male lizard (currently) in what is not a dress but many people would consider a dress and I think my character rocks the look.
Frankly I think with clever dyes and glamours you can make a dress more like a sleek, gender-neutral robe which looks cool for some jobs.
