throwing in my support for this, id love to wear the female version of the neo-ishgardian tanking chest on my male roe.

Well even tho i still cry about the butterfly hairpin from the pvp garo event i am glad that SE still genderlocks some sets. Seeing a male roe or hrothgar in Rynes clothes would break me...
Besides that, please turn Miqo'te first into the fat cats from Eulmore so we have the manboobs to fit in all these dresses!

I'm perfectly fine with genderlocked stuff.
So as long as each gender gets equal treatment.
Also why not more RSE?
We only have like 1 set and half a shirt. Need more variety out there.

This thread is actually really entertaining -- though I have to admit that it shows a divide between Western and Eastern sentimentalities ^^ In most Eastern mindsets there is a huge divide between feminine and masculine depictions of stuff (armor, cloths, attitudes, emotes). In JPN you will almost never see masculine type things be put onto a female, and vice versa. I'm not entirely sure where the desire for males to be able to wear female items originated from, but I can say that such an idea isn't something that most of us (JPN, CHN, Eastern cultural norms) can attest to. Armor and clothes and glams exist and are made exclusively for a certain gender - and why is that bad? Surely niche people can wear gear that is opposite of their biological gender, if it is allowed, but to think a video game company will make twice the armor just so every gender can wear every set seems to be kinda whatever people call entitled, especially when the video game creators are JPN ^^
>traditionally masculine gearI'm fine with the gender lock not being a priority to remove if it means more focus on traditionally masculine gear for male characters and traditionally feminine gear for female characters. It's what the majority of people seem to want, after all - and I'd rather not see the game's fashion trends dictated purely by whoever happens to be the the loudest, most vocal voice within the community.

Removing gender locking for a piece of gear would not require "twice as much work". Most of the development time goes into designing and creating the base model, usually done with a male hyur as base and then it is copied over to the other race/sex combinations with minor changes...There's 2 fundamentals at play.
1. Most of us choose male characters for male looks.
2. Having to make Ryne's outfit both genders, for example would require twice as much work. That's the last thing we want, these devs haven't even finished female hrothgar yet and are behind on high res textures, and character creator.
Except for all the times they decide to make twice as many unique models because they are obsessed with gender locking...
They way they are doing things now takes significantly more time than to not gender lock things.
