So this is a video by Arthars made five days ago, recommended by the glorious Youtube algorithm. Got curious. Watched it, mostly felt indifferent to a lot of things, right up to this old tired debacle around 6min-ish mark regarding the 450 weekly cap and gear and job role discussion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KoV...el=ArtharsFF14
I didn't know the original amount of tomestones you could carry at 2.0 was 300 and then was raised up to 450 only 3 weeks later. I know on these forums, we've beaten this horse to death over and over but the man does raise an interesting point here: 9 jobs at 2.0, now we're at 19 and we're still at 450 cap. If gear...virtually doesn't matter, does it actually warrant a change? Up to how much? And conversely, since it doesn't matter, then is there a point to increasing it?
I know that it's been discussed that, if you're heading into savage, gear matters even less but that won't stop people from gearing up regardless, just to make the average FFXIV life easier at the least. Crafted gear for raiding exist, somewhat affordable if you've been playing the game a long time. Nonetheless, is this something SE should revisit in the same fashion they did back in 2.0?
EDIT: as some posters pointed out-and it's also something that completely slipped my mind when writing this-gear is shared amongst jobs/roles so keep that in mind.
