As someone who had seen everyone involved in real time, I can confirm that we have a very unhinged sprout who had been actively trolling in NN and, upon receiving their justified kick, would proceed to flood the /tells of the person who had kicked them. OP was not the only one affected by this.
The course of events was that they had been that first, they had been flooding NN with NSFW messages and eventually got kicked. On their return, they started spewing insults and verbally attacked the mentor who had kicked them. Another mentor kicked them. On their return, they started ranting about DEMOCRACY and U ALL SUX after which point OP kicked them. OP had received verbal abuse from this sprout after the act. Other people who I know had kicked said sprout (for trolling / baiting for drama / flooding the channel with NSFW and refusing to stop when literally the entire channel was calling them out) also had gotten verbal abuse/threats.
So I can, at the very least, verify that part of OP's story.
So .. making no judgements as to who is in the right or whether the action was CORRECT..
this could be what the GM's are talking about as far as "Votekick abuse"?
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?

I strongly doubt it, unless the GMs are siding with the clear troublemaker despite the evidence that, yes, they are the troublemaker.
And none of the other people who have been kicking the troublemaker have gotten warnings either.
Furthermore, NN kicks are not Vote Kicks. Vote Kicks are specifically a thing you see in duties. If OP got warned for abuse of vote kick function, that means they must have kicked someone from a duty unfairly, and while I don't know every single run OP has done in the past year, I can confirm that most of what they're doing lately is either progging Eden Savage with a static or running roulettes with people in premades.
And crafting, of course.

Having never initiated one, how does one kick someone out of the NN?
Just curious.. because we've got so little to look at here other than very VERY cropped perspective.

Click name, hit 'kick' list reason for kick. No voting, it's 'any mentor can do it'. Post slurs, expect a kick.

It's alright to be doubtful. Anywho, you right click someone's name, select kick, write the reason for kicking, tick off a "I believe this kick is justified and know the consequences of abuse" button, and then kick.
I've kicked someone exactly once, and that was for inciting drama (for hours!) by throwing insults and refusing to stop when asked. As for the person who gave OP death threats, they are openly a nuisance in NN (again, spamming, dropping NSFW messages, insulting people, trying to stir drama--- they even tried to provoke someone who I personally know is not that easy to provoke)
Sadly, I cannot provide logs (though I DO have them) due to forum rules.
I'm honestly unsure as to why OP got a warning for vote kick abuse, myself. But I am not entirely sure that it's related to them kicking this troublemaker-- because if it IS, not only did the GM get the reasons wrong (NN Kick vs Vote Kick), they also sided with the obvious troll.

Why do I get the distinct impression this is one of those situations where once we see the other side it becomes really obvious it's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other?
If you think someone is harassing you, block them.
If they make death threats and you take them seriously, tell the police, not a public forum. In fact the standard advice offered by every police force in the world when someone receives a death threat is to do the opposite of what you've done. Report it and do not respond publicly is what everyone seems to be told.

Ok, but that doesn't address the issue of 'why is one person held a penalty for something they didn't do...while others are allowed to get away with extreme and blatant chat logged violations.'
Because you got the short end of the stick and got a bad gm? If what you are saying is true.

It is. Every detail I have given is true, and nothing relevant was left out. This is a seriously flawed system.
