Chat lag/delay

I've seen a few people having these issues without any fixes. I have tried everything I can think of. Reinstalling the game, changing settings in router, tried to see if modem was bridged or not with ISP but they weren't too helpful, even tried minimizing in-game graphics. I don't know what else to do.

The rest of the game does not lag for me, just the chat box. I wouldn't have noticed it if I was not in voice chat and heard people answering questions in chat that I did not even see pop up until 5-10seconds afterward.

I saw two posts on here sent to "Closed Concerns" but were they fixed?! This is getting to be really annoying.

Chat is handled by its own server, just as logins are handled by their own, instances have their own, zones have their own, etc. No amount of re-installing (side note: virtually never necessary to fix anything), router settings changing, modem configuring, or anything else will resolve this issue.

It's down to SE (currently still in the middle of an infrastructure 'crisis', with an impending expansion launch) upgrading the chat servers, or allocating more computing power to them. I'm afraid that the chat server lag is probably occupying a comfortable space around #17 or #18 on their list of 'things we need to get done, NOW.'

...Especially if they are instructing support to close these concerns. Someone, somewhere asked what they should do with 'chat lag' threads, and they were told to close them. /shrug

This has been going on for me for months! I've tried everything the OP has tried. Don't know what else to do!!
