If youve been using a program to see cpu/gpu temps you can see for yourself it is running a lot hotter than the previous patch

I agree its the patch, for some reason my FPS went from 40 in town to 20 and sometimes 1. Yet it doesnt happen with any other game like BF3.
I've always had alot of random crashes on FFXIV but it only seems to happen in 2 ways,
1: When I return to Uldah theres about a 20% chance I'll instantly crash
2: When skipping a CS (such as Airship or grabbing choco) prob about a 25% chance i'll instantly crash.
Also before anyway says it yes all my drivers are up to date.
I've noticed my GPU temps have increased from 59c to 65c in Uldah and 65-70c to 73-80c out in the field, I cleaned my PC out the other day to and my temps have barely dropped.
Thanks for people finally not pointing the finger at me, I know how to work a computer thank you! I really hope this is addressed in 1.22a, as I am currently scared to do anything without overheating my computer. I don't know if I mentioned it earlier in the thread but I now took off the side panel and have a HUGE fan pointed directly at my graphics card and processor. I will occasionally reach in to see how hot they are, since I now turn off EVERYTHING possible to run the game: including little things like a small program to tell me temps. The first time it overheated and emergency shutdown itsself -- I touched my graphics card and it gave me a blister I still have on my finger(I am not even kidding)
I love playing but I am a nervous wreck this patch is going to destroy my hardware, and I cannot afford to replace a graphics card or processor or motherboard.
this is me pleading to the devs: PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD FIX THIS! I don't want to have to wait until 2.0 to play again, but if its the choice of my hardware or the game... I am going to choose my hardware certainly. Please ): please devs, fix the issue its serious

Crashed again after selecting character. It was the FFXIV error(the one with the icon on the side)
First time playing today
for the love of god please fix what you have done devs!
It is seriously getting to the point where I just stop and wait until 2.0 this is beyond ridiculous

How many people have to voice it? How loud do I have to scream? Do I call SE Phone support. Is the developers even aware of the issues? Who the hell knows?! The mods don't tell you. could you acknowledge that there is an issue?
You are having the welcome back program on the 9th and if crashing is what people get YOU BLOW IT AGAIN! fix it

ever stop to think it very well could have been due to new content.. more people on the server? not the patch its self as much as the load on the servers?
Funny you should mention this, because I play on my laptop, limited cooling etc etc, and the only time my game crashes is when skipping CS's in instances, thats happened in Garuda, Hamlet and Cutters Cry, but seriously if you have to point a fan an your card to keep it cool I would make sure your GPU fan is working, it could be that a blade has been damaged, or the entire fan has failed. A failure of the fan will cause these overheating problems and it will cause terminal damage to your card so you need to check them.
Your symptoms seem to indicate that to me, if it was a patch problem your game would still crash and cause problems on the lowest settings.
2 of my PCs have the issue where it will occasionally crash after I zone/load. Not sure what It is but for sure there is an issue there. My other PC will almost always crash after a load but ONLY If I adjusted my UI in that session. On that PC If I need to make UI adjustments I log out and back In after there made. Its always been like this for me.
As far as heat goes, If I don't crank my fans I will overheat. before I log In I crank my GPU fans to 50% and then when I log out I set them back to automatic, Its a PITA but my temps are great when I do this.
Its also a good Idea to clean out any dust you get In your PC. Make sure all your case intake holes are clean, lots of cases these days have hard to clean spots for some reason.
I too have noticed a spike in my GPU temperature only when I'm playing FFXIV. It gets ridiculously hot to the touch. I have a small desk fan pointed right at my video card as a temporary solution. I checked to make sure my fans are running properly and have cleaned out my PC too, despite it not having been that dirty and dusty to begin with. The temperature spike used to never happen before and it doesn't happen when I play or do anything else, so... I dunno lol
