Taking this proposal somewhat seriously for the sake of conversation. If the developer did ‘delete’ a certain race - how would they handle a solid chunk the player base who are suddenly unable to play their characters anymore?
I know quite a few people want Lalafell, the easiest example since quite a few people dislike both the race and the players behind them, to be surgically removed. But how do you handle the players of said race in the aftermath of a deletion?
...That's the only thing you'd change? Wouldn't you rather they swing their sword like they are strong enough to actually lift it and like they know what they are doing, rather than clumsily and excruciatingly slowly bumbling around like they've never lifted anything heavier than a teacup in their life?
90% or more of the playerbase would hate the game if I took control over it, lol
There are a LOT of design changes that happened specially since Stormblood that I'm not happy with and would definitely change if I could

You can enjoy the game and still think of ways that you'd change it either to suit your personal preferences or just because they're things the devs should have done multiple expacs ago
Add more instanced PvP. Like big battlegrounds with only 2 factions (for example: Immortal VS maelstrom, or Maelstrom VS Twin Adder, etc...). Could be 48 VS 48 on large maps with objectives to do and a time limit. Specific mounts and cosmetics as reward.
Add improved and higher resolution texture packs as an option.
Reworking Glamour system at some point.
Reworking UI menus.
Oh yes !dismount automatically when attacking to initiate combat
In all cased, I would love to see SE innovate by adding new features, can be risky fore sure, but could be amazing.
cool novel but that is not the point of this thread. its a what-if scenario outside of the binds of realitythis kind of thread proves that plebs cannot and should not be in charge of ideas.
you can throw money and more time at a problem - you will have a lack of manpower because there just won't be enough talent to fill it.
you can throw people and money at a problem - you will run into a lack of time because it will take time to train said people and get them up to snuff. you want to keep this game on a schedule right?

this kind of sentiment is always so annoying, you dont criticize a game you play because you hate it, you do that because you love it and want it to be better. nothing is perfect and theres always breathing room for more. the game has many technical issues and other ones that are up to the individual. do i like dungeons? yeah. do i like the direction we have seen them go for dungeons since HW which is a copy-paste of pulling the same 2 or 3 packs wall to wall with 3 bosses in an extremely linear way? absolutely not. some ARR dungeons were really cool and its disappointing to see the same boring pattern. theyre fun to do the first time around and thats it. which, to me, doesnt seem like a smart allocation of resources. its an mmo after all so you would like your content to have some longevity and 4 savage fights and 2 extremes every 6 months is not quite enough.
and thats just one of the criticisms i have with the game but you see, everyone here wants the game they love to be better.

I would change some of the movement animations for DRK & WAR by looking at trained swordsmen that know how to use a great sword & large axe in combat- I'd go based off of more realism than anime super hero - To add; it was like 4am & I was only adding ghosts of ideas....That's the only thing you'd change? Hard to tell. Maybe start reworking older systems first.
Glamour
- Add more space (1.000) in the glamour dresser and add more glamour plates into it
- Add a face slot (which is just for glamour, no stats)
- Add a back slot for wings, capes or other stuff
Housing
- Add a second floor and a balcony to appartements (both can be purchased seperately with gil)
- Other characters from the same server and account have access to the housing menu
- Add the glamour dresser as housing furniture
Classes/Jobs
- Remove base classes
- Running a dungeon below max level with a max level job will also reward players with a small exp-ticket which can be used for other jobs (DoW only)
- Reworking sync (but I dont know how xD)
Trust NPCs
- Increase the amount of EXP for the player by 200% (not as much as for the NPCs itself)
Strikes
- Strikes against accounts will be removed after 1 or 2 years from the moment the strike was active
- Players can see those in the menu and the reason (more transparency)
Inventory/Items
- Add a separate inventory for crafting/gathering materials
- Add multiselect for inventory items
- Retainer inventory can be accessed from any retainer
- Add two additional free retainers
- Add a account bank to share items with other characters of the same account and server
Mogry Store
- Sophia gear as purchasable outfit
- Sin Eater gear as purchasable outfit
- Innocence Wings as purchasable mount
- Forgiven Obscenity and Forgiven Venery as purchasable vendos for housing
(or add a Sin Eater beast tribe and make that stuff free)

- Queen of Heal 2022 -
Make circle target damage such as Salted Earth and healing skills such as Asylum , be place on a double tap.
Get rid of that lowered potency on multiple targets nonsense on dot spread abilities, or special aoe skill attacks for some jobs or vastly improve the potency loss on multiple targets
Make Iron Jaw spread the two bites for Bard so they dont have to spend loads of gcds dotting as many mobs as possible
Alter Summoners Baha/Phoenix code so they will auto/special attack whilst moving or rather dont make them follow the Summoner as they cant be hit by anything anyways so they always get their auto/special shot off the moment you press relevant skills.
Create a new Archer splinter job so that ARC can also become a Ranger or Warden , something aligned with its Gridanian woodland , elemental roots .Perhaps pure ranged arrow DPS with a few elemental attacks specials from forest beasts or trees/plant life for CC and poison
WHM Cure 2 replaces Cure . Free Cure has been removed . Regen will now be granted at lvl 20 . Benediction will now be granted at level 35. A new passive ability One With The Elements will granted at level 40 which reduces the cool-down of presence of mind by 1 second each time Stone/Glare is a critical hit.
BLM: Freeze will now been granted at level 20 . Thunder 3/4 has been merged with their Thunder 1/3 counter part . Ley lines is now a passive buff on the same timer , and Aetherial Manipulation now has 2 charges. Between the Lines has been removed.
WAR Beast skills are now ogcds.
Tank Jobs : Provoke and ranged enmity generator skill such as Tomahawk are now ogcds and do not interrupt your combos . Reprisal's damage reduction effect of 10% has been merged into the Arms length ability and Reprisal ability removed. Reprisals damage reduction length has been increased to 15 seconds to match the slowing effect timer of Arms Length and Arms Length now has a recast timer 120 seconds.
