Still a decent amount of people in Limsa, but it's still kinda early, and it's reset day.
Give it a couple days and we'll be back to our normal Limsa numbers.

GMs are generally quite busy with all the tickets they get for other issues. They don't have time to be personally contacting every player to see if they that might be doing that.
Whatever checks for lack of input could probably also be programmed to check for repetitive input and boot the player when that is detected. Someone who had been booted in error could always log back in right away.
I wonder if players on the free trial were placed in the log in queue same as subscribed players before this maintenance. If so, log in queues for subscribed players could be significantly shorter as the free trial players are effectively pushed to the back of the line each time a subscribed player joins the queue.
Cutting edge?Blizz rarely needs to ramp up their servers as its already really high end (cutting edge in industry actually) which is why you don't see it much.
LMAO you have GOT to be joking.
They cant or wont arrange a calendar that sets events in local time. The calendar is set to display event start times in California time...17 hours time difference. When asked why? It cant be done.
They cant or wont organise a fix for the day night cycle - thats since 2016 when they decided that it was a good idea to tie OCE servers to CALIFORNIA time..result, the OCE servers are in permanent night time. They cant do what everyone else can do.
Are we seeing a pattern here?
The very first time I walked out into the blazing sun in Limsa, i almost cried. I had been hurting to see DAYLIGHT for years. Its all very well and good to laud their art team..but when you treat one part of your playerbase as fourth class customers, I draw the line.
Blizzard came up with a toy..it has a 2 hr duration doesnt persist through death and has a TWENTY FOUR HOUR cooldown on it. For almost two years the OCE players have begged Blizzard to fix it or explain why....silence. If their servers are so cutting edge, why cant they set up a rotating day night cycle like anyone else has? BDO, a Korean MMO that has one fifteenth the budget of Blizzard can do it, why cant it be done?
"Its too hard to do owing to server design".
They took five years to set up appear offline, telling us they couldnt do it..then to find out they could, they lied to our faces. They could have done it they just didnt want to
The server and input lag has been a major issue since BFA and still hasnt been fixed...thats FOUR YEARS later mind you.
They created a voice chat system that COULD NOT be turned off..this said voice chat system came with a volume system that messed with your GLOBAL settings for your entire system.
They have no privacy controls, you can be added as a friend by total strangers and tracked.
They have no proper and functioning ignore system. You can ignore someone and they can just go and create an alt and keep going after that person.
Their engine is 15 years old and their servers are below par by anyones metrics.
Their servers are so "cutting edge" that they shut the servers off every week.
So please...no. Not even CLOSE.

Agree. Nice to see a lot of new adventurers around. It can remind us of that feeling we had when we were also new and going out into this new world for the first time. Gives a more lively and more energetic atmosphere into the game so it feels like new in a way again? definitely does not feel like we are waiting for a new xpac with the amount of new ppl around doing stuff for the first time![]()
Agree with you. It is fortunate this happened now instead of endwalker launch. It gives time for SE to catch up on expanding their capacities like Yoshi said about them moving the timetable on their project on this subject. And it gives time for these new players to explore and enjoy the current xpacs without the pressure of rushing to the newest xpac content and without competiting with a lot of the veterans on server space.Alot of the information regarding their difficulties is understandable too given both the current real world conditions as well as unprecedented demand. We already knew the dev team was hamstrung by quarantine restrictions making setting up the oceanic data servers alot more difficult so it's no surprise this would impact the north american and european servers too if they have to inspect these as well (international travel is only really begun reopening this month in both continents) and full vaccination is required to enter these regions atm. As for the difficulty in sourcing new server hardware it's completely understandable you only have to ask anyone in the PC gaming community in the last few months how much of a nightmare it's been to source the newest CPU and EXPECIALLY GPU's without being ripped off by scalpers or paying far above MRSP. Even
earlier this year is was a nightmare to source certain motherboards and even PSUs. At the very least they are bringing foward plans for new server's and capacity increases as soon as they can secure the hardware needed to do so.
Overall for what it's worth while new players might find things a bit difficult the game IS worth buying if only the base pack thats like €10 so you can queue up. This is also a blessing in disguise as Endwalker during the last LL was stated to have nearly triple the preorders compared to shadowbringers. Had this happened during Endwalker itself we'd be drowning in a sea of dissapointment memes right now! At least with all this happening now it's alerted the dev team to how much demand the game could potentially have and that we are definately in need of a new server or 2 on the NA and EU datacenters.
