And there's nothing "fun" about spending an entire 20 seconds defeating a boss because someone wanted it to be easy.
You want easy, go undersized party with echo in party finder.
There's a middle ground and we have it.
I've never had a boss melt in 20 seconds.
They're not going to make it harder.
If it weren't for the forced transition sequence, Thordan would actually be dead within 20 seconds. He absolutely explodes due to the massive power creep. Even Shinryu is a shell of himself nowadays for precisely the same reason. These fights are supposed to be the hallmark conclusion to an epic story and they're complete jokes. I certainly won't speak for everyone but that instantly takes me out of the story. In fact, it's one of the reasons I didn't enjoy Thordan as much as everyone else.
We don't have a middle ground whatsoever. Content below Shadowbringers utterly melts. I'm a six year veteran who has never once since even half the mechanics of Crystal Tower because we outlevel it to kingdom come. Weeping City used to be a favourite raid of mine because it was vaguely challenging. Alas, it's been gutted now because we so vastly outgear it. Even current content isn't immune to this problem. When I can completely ignore every single mechanic in E10N because he deals paltry damage and has two tank buster nearly ten minutes apart, I'm neither learning said mechanics or really engaging with the fight. Which brings us back to an earlier point. What are new players learning when mechanics are skipped entirely or simply ignored because who cares, they don't deal enough damage?
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
I enjoyed Thunder God or Ivalice in general for that reason. It's so boring and lifeless now it's a crime. If it weren't for the forced transition sequence, Thordan would actually be dead within 20 seconds. He absolutely explodes due to the massive power creep. Right? I loved Cid because he could actually threaten us if we weren't paying attention. Nothing about him was hard per se but you couldn't sleep through him. Sadly, because they've done nothing to balance Alliance raids or fix the ilvl cheesing, it meant no one ever wanted to touch Orbonne. And now Cid's a shell of himself that basically can't hurt you at all.

Hmm, I don't think it will happen. Who knows!
