The timer sounds several magitudes easier to program, along with proactively removing people who aren't playing instead of going it reactively when someone's already trying to log in.

Communication? really? Yoshi P himself gave a public apology and a large and comprehensive explanation as to how this happened and why. He can't make you read it but it wasn't hard to find, all the Youtubers are talking about it, it has a post on the forums and it was posted on the loadestone and game launcher. Get over yourself, please. There is a huge difference between getting information from work associates, and getting insider information as a consumer. Even if Yoshi-P did know when he was told they would install the server, I wouldn't blame him for not sharing the information with ffxiv players because there's no guarantee there won't be delays. And then there'd be even more upset people. As it is though, not even he knows when this can be done. He probably has a few estimates, but don't expect him to share every bit of information with you. That's just silly to expect.

While I do agree that having a crowd in Limsa does make the game feel more vibrant, I think it's still important to be considerate. We know we're working with limited space here so if we have Player A who wants to log in and work on their MSQ or Player B who wants to port to Limsa, /dance and then alt-tab away before going to take a nap then, yeah sorry, but the slot should go to Player A.

Like Yoship's letter today, you can balance having a lively game and helping abide by the timeout rule. If you are performing, sure go ahead, have fun knock your socks off.

Just when you are done, just logout and when you are actively ready to perform again, just log back in.

How does someone AFK make a community feel like a real community as opposed to the players who are actually running around doing things with others?

We have one on my server. They're called Mint Dew. We suspect they have two accounts where the play on one and dance on another because there is a Mint Dew`. And it's like a game looking for what glam they will have and dance they will use. People often join in. There's something comforting and familiar about seeing good old Mint Dew dancing away.

That connects us a lot more than being off in our own little dungeon instances or in our linkshells and FCs.

You still haven't read it have you? thats ok honestly, but asking for more communication when you don't even read the messages they do send seems daft.

Your last line suggest you don't even get the issue, how am I winning if I can't log on for 40 minutes because the servers have too many people long time afk who refuse to log out? How am I winning if I D/C in the middle of a dungeon and get hit with a 40 minute queue when I try to jump back in? And what is your win? being logged in while you sleep? really?
