The Karen levels of entitlement in this thread are so strong it should be declared a pandemic by the WHO. Yes, you are a paying customer but so is the poor sod trying to log in, how about you move your ass along if you're not actually playing and log out for a bit so others can have a go on the ride.

I want to give a shout out to the people making the argument that people afk dancing for 24 hours a day in Limsa is "playing" because they make the world feel alive. This is lovely and everything but don't then suggest that more servers is the answer, because then you get empty worlds if the player base drops. Merging servers in this game, if and when it happens, is going to be an absolute nightmare thanks to housing and they have to be absolutely confident before expanding servers that they won't have to merge for some time after, because that will cause a hot mess.

FFXIV is current in the middle of a quite unprecedented phenomenon, a huge surge in players 8 years into a games life span and during a content low point. Nobody could have predicted this and while it's always great to play as Captain Hindsight all SE are asking us to do, while taking full responsibility for it, is be a bit more thoughtful of others who want to log in, if you're actively playing, fine, if not, make way for someone who does want to play.

The Problem we are having right now can be translated to

"We have to many customers that make us money ... What can we do?! Its to many! Restrict the ones we have!"

while i agree with, if your afk for 30 you can prolly also log out, shaming ppl who pay their sub and then want to be online or even reporting them is just mad.
Get mad at SE ... do you have ANY idea what is going to happen at EW release if its bad NOW? They need to jump on this wave and fix things, its beyond me how their not immediately jumping into action with a battle plan of "okay in x weeks we have 1 new NA Datacenter (or 1-3 new Servers) and same for EU" we need communication ...

We know about the Australian Datacenter, which is cool but most reports on the game focus on EU and NA problems.

And besides, if you plan on reporting ppl. for standing around retainers, or crafting ... your as much wasted space as they are. Also there's plenty methods that are not as obvious. And even if you fix every single way including crafting and Retainers ... most keyboards or mice come with macro function and will be happy to press "W" for you once per 25 min for 1 sec. The Auto Logout has no long-time value.

And if SE thinks that i need to be pushed into a potentially like 30-60 min queue (after i already went through it once) because they cant fix servers when EW releases because i go to the kitchen and make food. Nah ...
Communication? really? Yoshi P himself gave a public apology and a large and comprehensive explanation as to how this happened and why. He can't make you read it but it wasn't hard to find, all the Youtubers are talking about it, it has a post on the forums and it was posted on the loadestone and game launcher. How the hell did you miss it?

If you had read it then you would know most of your post has already been explained. In short, due to the economic impact of covid 19 they can't rush through servers because there is a global shortage of the physical components they need, they have tried to get them but can't. They will be adding servers but we will have to be patient as the global economy recovers.

Im well aware of him saying sorry, which is whatever ... a single person is never to blame for anything but i understand its the Japanese lifestyle. The world works in supply chains ... everything has a delivery date ... and considering you already assume stuff about me. I guess i can assume you don't understand that, which is fine. Our company has a PCB which requires about 120 components and i work with companies who struggle with production ... and guess what they still tell me when they expect to deliver.

All i asked for was to be told what their plan is other then "we work on it" which is empty words, is it planned to be fixed in 1 Week? 1 Month? A quarter?

You do you and ill stay logged in, we all win.

Get over yourself, please. There is a huge difference between getting information from work associates, and getting insider information as a consumer. Even if Yoshi-P did know when he was told they would install the server, I wouldn't blame him for not sharing the information with ffxiv players because there's no guarantee there won't be delays. And then there'd be even more upset people. As it is though, not even he knows when this can be done. He probably has a few estimates, but don't expect him to share every bit of information with you. That's just silly to expect.

You still haven't read it have you? thats ok honestly, but asking for more communication when you don't even read the messages they do send seems daft.

Your last line suggest you don't even get the issue, how am I winning if I can't log on for 40 minutes because the servers have too many people long time afk who refuse to log out? How am I winning if I D/C in the middle of a dungeon and get hit with a 40 minute queue when I try to jump back in? And what is your win? being logged in while you sleep? really?
