I never in any way blamed people trying to help. I clearly stated what I have experienced. I have never seen anyone trying to help get flammed but I have seen people be rude in the methods they use to try to help. This isn't in FF14 but many games over my lifetime.

You'll meet the occasional person who reacts "badly" to tips or suggestions, even very mildly stated ones like "Does anyone need a rundown of the mechanics?" after a wipe or "we should prioritize the tethered mobs, they can't be tanked" on Amaurot.
I will quickly say this is a rarity.. but they exist.
However if you're being rebuked for your help all the time.. yeah.. maybe you're not being as nice as you think?
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
"hey X, I've noticed you've been having troubles healing the tank with cure 1, cure 2 has a higher healing potency and is just marginally slower to cast and needs more MP than 1, plus, it's basically a straight up upgrade, and that'd make it easier to heal the tankYou'll meet the occasional person who reacts "badly" to tips or suggestions, even very mildly stated ones like "Does anyone need a rundown of the mechanics?" after a wipe or "we should prioritize the tethered mobs, they can't be tanked" on Amaurot.

"hey X, I've noticed you've been standing around doing nothing during pulls and waiting to having to heal the tank, if you pop a regen on them and use your AoE spells on more than 2 mobs, you'd help the run immensely, holy is even a tank's best mitigation tool!"
"hey Y, I've seen you're not using your mitigation skills during pulls or when you were on low health, abilities like rampart/30% mitigation/Reprisal+AL are helping a LOT against incoming damage and make it easier on the healer and are used best right after you pulled the enemies, not when they're almost dead!"
"fuk u u don't pay my sub"
I'm not sure if this is something of a primal thing, but I've seen people, or have been insulted, for trying to help, no matter how nice it was
on the other hand, I've seen toxic players insult a "bad" player and that they should do X and Y, and said player then did X and Y without complaining a few times as well
but yeah, I wonder if you've played on a primal server before, seeing as most of the people that posted about seeing this were also on primal, if I'm not misremembering
"I bet the people trying to give the tips are doing in a tone that doesn't seem very pleasant."
see above, I've seen more nice people explaining abilities or mechanics get insulted by the players they're trying to help than actual a**holes being called what they are for, well, being a**holes
"Hey noob, you need to git gud!"
Vet wonders why no one takes his advice... "I was just trying to help a new player, why do I get toxic replies?"

Seen this many times, in the tales from the duty finder thread I've lost count over the years of the amount of people who post screen shots of them getting negativity from "constructive criticism" and when you read it it becomes painfully obvious why it rubbed the wrong way.
As someone who has never had a problem with this kind of thing I would urge anyone who does to focus more on the constructive and less on the criticism.
Thing is a toxic reply to such a comment is pointless sure the comments also is pointless but we only have control over our own actions. Somene tells ya to "git gud" i would reply with "I would appreciate any tips or advice." I would ask them what feel i could improve on. In the end sure they may ignore me but at the very least i tried to be civil.
This whole fighting hostilities with more hostilities is silly imo.

Maybe if we had a legit pvp mode this would be something to consider, but for df content this really isn't necessary. A waste of time actually. Why would I need to be matched with equally skilled players to clear content that can be face rolled? I wouldn't, the content is easy enough to be cleared with varying skill levels. Why would I want to wait an extra 10-15 minutes to clear something at best 5 minutes sooner?
And what would skill be based on? Dps done? Deaths? What about healers; will healing done factor in? If so how would it, and would it be accurate? What if I mess up a mechanic and it kills others, does that lower their skill or mine?
Nope!

Yeah, this part I should have mentioned for actually being bad for the game. Queue times would increase, especially during content lulls. In a perfect world players at the lower end would be encouraged to play at a higher level, and higher level players would get swift queues, and clears. Unfortunately, neither would happen - at least not consistently on a mass level. Yeah, what would it be based on in the first place? This is a pretty lofty system, and I doubt it would (or could) even be implemented well.Maybe if we had a legit pvp mode this would be something to consider, but for df content this really isn't necessary. Because that's where the game put the efficient means of acquiring high-end gear (i.e., via tomes) outside of static hours/play. Those players aren't likely doing content that quickly becomes mind-numbing to them for the mere fun of it.
That's actually a surprisingly accurate and comprehensive summary for how concise it was. 10/10.It seems to me like this game being very dance like causes this rift. Either you have seen the various mechanics this game throws at you and can play with your UI turned off, in which case you know the moves or...you don't know the moves. It has a higher skill floor than most other games and a lower ceiling so you end up with one crowd who feels the game is way too easy and another crowd that finds it frustrating.

Those systems are meant for ranked PvP content so that new people don’t get smoked by veteran players. That would be an absolutely horrible idea to add to the Duty Finder. It would also be difficult to improve if they were only ever matched up with “low skill” players. It’s honestly good that you get a mix, content often feels too easy when everyone is skilled and you never have any stakes.
