Be nice if they did something like Disc Priest in WoW, where you put a buff on players and a portion of damage you do turns to healing

Unfortunately very unlikely. It could be a very fun design for a healer but it would give that healer a massive advantage. Healer optimization generally boils down to reducing all unnecessary healing to an absolute minimum and replacing it with more dps. If you have a healer that, by design, is able to do both healing and dps at the same time and doesn't have to trade one for the other then they will quickly become an absolute must-have.
