FF14 is great about never getting rid of old content, or renewing it in a satisfying way. I believe adding old GATES back into the rotation would be a huge positive. (Especially with Make it Rain and the influx of new players.) All of the removed GATES could be done while in queues, and a higher variety to the pool of available GATES makes every individual one less repetitive.
"Vase Off"- Everyone I know liked this GATE, it was especially fun because you could essentially run it as fast as you were comfortable with. The reward might need a slight modernizing. Proposed changes for full completion: 2,500 MGP > 3,000 MGP
"Skinchange We Believe In"- Reception is generally in between the other two removed GATES. There would be absolutely no problem rounding out the roster with this event. Slightly higher reward to encourage taking your time. Proposed changes for successful completion: 3,000 > 3,500 MGP
"Time of My Life"- Based on general feedback, this was the least popular one, but it doesn't mean it doesn't have a place. If the reward suited the time it took to complete, and it only spawned once in a while, I'd be overjoyed to even see my personal least favorite attraction back. Again, being able to do these in queue is so nice.
Proposed changes for full completion: 2,000 > 4,000 MGP
While all of these GATES could use a slight modernizing. (You're holding an actual vase in Vase Off.) (Move the NPCs/Improve visibility to prevent player crowding for Skinchange.) (Lower the time to completion and possibly add new emotes for Time of My Life.) The removed GATES at the time were less engaging since the pool was so small, and the rewards weren't balanced well, but now if they were placed in the mix of the newer ones, they'd provide much needed variety.
The short-term proposal is bringing back the old GATES as they were, with slight MGP tweaks, even if they're "rarely" spawned compared to others. The long term wish list is to see slight modernization. They're all very unique, and it'd be a shame that no player could ever experience them again. Thanks for reading!
