What's your character's backstory/lore?

Mine is an aspiring superhero in the same vein as the Go Go Posing Rangers, assisting other adventurers and pursuing bounties while decked out in flashy glamours. In her spare time, she also raises chocobos. Her personal steed is a tamed Red Chocobo.

I wish I could say I had one.
I was really stupid to use my real name on my main char. I later changed it to ShizukuOikawa which is a cute attractive cow-girl from something I don't know, but plenty of adult stuff out there for her character, she just happened to be a Viera though and not a cow, and I realized that bunny ears can't use helmets, which really disappointed me, so I changed to something cooler, Dark Willy lol. I used him for most of the storyline, but I've been really eager to play a Lalafell, and I made a few Lalafell alts but this game isn't exactly alt friendly, so I just said screw it and as much as I loved Dark Willy, I changed to Little Allison lol.

There's not much to say about her, she's just a lil mage adventurer that somehow got all kinds of power and knows all these people as she randomly appeared... it's kind of weird.. I wish I didn't name change constantly but I always find reasons to play something different for my main, and just can't stand alts here because all your progress is saved on one character, unlike WoW where all your achievements are spread throughout your characters.

Once upon a time there was a magic pumpkin.
It was growing in a patch with many ordinary pumpkins tended by an old Lalafell in Gridania. When the pumpkins were in season people started to come to the pumpkin patch and look at the pumpkins and sometimes take one away, but no one took the magic pumpkin.
There were a few familiar faces around the pumpkin patch, but the magic pumpkin was quite fond of a Miqo'te that liked to come into the pumpkin patch to relax and read. Sometimes it would read aloud to the pumpkin, and though the pumpkin couldn't talk to them, it liked to believe that it helped bring the Miqo'te peace.
However, as All Saints Wake drew near the pumpkin patch became sparser and sparser, yet no one went home with the magic pumpkin. Eventually, people stopped coming all together and the magic pumpkin began to miss the Miqo'te quite fiercely.
One day, the old Lalafell farmer picked all the pumpkins left in the patch, and brought them inside to turn into pumpkin pie. However, when he ate the pie made from the magic pumpkin it possessed him.
The magic pumpkin, now an 89 year old Lalafell, went out in search for his friend the Miqo'te. It took a long time, but eventually the pumpkin caught up with the Miqo'te in Limsa. When he found them he burst into tears saying, "I'm so happy to see you again."
Bewildered, the Miqo'te asked, "I'm sorry, but who are you?"
The magic pumpkin /posed in front of them and said, "don't you recognize me? Iiiiiiiiiiit's Meeeee!"

A reincarnation of a long forgotten deity who governs over time and space that resides within Lunarian Capital---reborn in a body of sickly, young man of ill fate. Having eventually remembered the true intent of his celestial obligation at one point in his life, he began to concoct a devious plan which involves the well-being of his mortal friends. As a celestial, humanely interaction are almost always amusing to him. Conversely he also knows nothing about the value of one's life.

During one of his final experimentation, (un)fortunately something gone terribly wrong that he was spirited away.... to the brand new, unfamiliar world of Hydaelyn! What's even more surprising, due to how different the law of universe behaves between his home world and in Hydaelyn, he has now taken an entirely different physical form---becoming a doppelganger of the friend his mortal counterpart had always been the closest to!(and albeit a bit obsessed with). The only remaining capability that remains intact is manipulating his own age and it's not even something he can utilize every now and then in this new world!

Stranded, alone, and powerless without the knowledge he supposed to retain from his home world, he's now forced to wander aimlessly in the world he's unfamiliar with. Fortunately he also inherited the strong willpower his closest friend possess and thus he had managed to survive so far, perhaps until time fixes his predicament and send him back to his home world...

Her mother was a Viera adventurer, and they were doing a simple quest of gathering herbs. However her birth mother disappeared. She was but a child at the time and was lost in the forest alone. A week later she ended up being picked up by a merchant when she tried to steal some of the food he had. Feeling sympathetic he ended up taking her to a friend of his. An Elezan courtesan named Adeline who worked at a brothel. This woman was the daughter of a fallen house of nobility and became a courtesan to live and the merchant was a repeat client of hers and would do her favors from time to time. When Adeline and my oc met each other they instantly connected. She took the little girl in and over time became like mother and daughter.
They both lived in the brothel so many of the workers and the owners were like a large family to her, when her mother was working one of the other workers or brothel owners would look after her and spend time with her. Her new mother would often tell her stories of heroes and how she always wanted to meet a hero. One such story was about an old myth of a woman who saved countless lives by the name of Valkyrie and it was Adeline's favorite hero story.
Several years later Adeline grew ill. It was a sickness that rarely shows up in those of her profession and it would inevitably take her life. My character would read to Adeline her favorite stories when Adeline could no longer leave her bed. She then promised with tear filled eyes that she will become a hero herself, one that her mother could be proud of so that her mother could say she really met a hero in the afterlife. After a short time passed, her mother died from the illness. The owners of the brothel allowed her to place a grave not to far away overlooking a beautiful view of a sea of trees. On the grave stone the name Adeline Valkyrie was engraved. She decided that she would take on the name of Valkyrie and it would be a shared name between mother and daughter and their favorite hero connecting them always. Then set off for Gridiania to become an adventurer. (neither of them had last names, one likely hid it out of shame while the other forgotten since she was so young)

If I knew anything about Thavnair lore, I'd love to make one and maybe try RP. I just don't wanna fall into the "orphaned/ rough streets" backstory trap. It's like a handwave bandaid fix for a missing piece of knowledge (how the WoL arrived in their city) rather than create something interesting/ impactful.

I'd like to have a backstory but I have fantasia'd so much that a back story can't exist other than I'm a shapeshifter.

That said I like thinking that my characters as a Hrothgar was part of a group if refugees who fled their home in Ilsabard and made their way to Ala Mhigo only for Ala Mhigo to fall to the Garleans and thus being forced to flee again but instead of heading to Thanalan he headed to La Noscea instead.

However once I race change to Viera the story will be that as a teen he got separated from his squad and was found by some researchers looking for vieras or any traces of their culture. After being found they took him to Rabanaste where he was studied as well as taught and raised. After some time it was decided that he was to go to Sharlayan where he would be studied much more extensively and be taught on a more grander scale. However on their way to Sharlayan the ship was attacked and he washed up on the shores of La Noscea.
