    Pre patch suggestion

FFXIV should embrace pre patches, during which they release new jobs and races (If the expansion has one).

I would daresay to say release all battle changes as well (of course, with the current expansion level cap), but that would be too much.

This approach will allow people to tinker around with new jobs in preparation, and most importantly to dive into the new expansion with the new jobs.
Thus avoiding the situation where the player is forced to grind for 2-3 days straight for that 10 levels.

Why not just wait for Expansion Launch?
Your not disadvantaged or doing anything extra if you dont. This idea doesnt really do anything extra or add any advantages either.
The closest you could do is preorder the expansion and get 3 day early access....which I think most people do, so once again your not getting anything different or special.

And unless you literally do nothing else with your life, and you have boosts out the wazoo, your gonna grind out those levels for a couple of days either way. So once again Im not sure what we are getting out of this idea

Other games (not just wow) will launch a patch about a month before their expansion comes out. This patch includes the balance changes and class changes and related but does not include the level cap or new zones and etc. It sometimes (not always) includes the new classes/races for people who preordered. It sometimes (not always) includes a one-time event to foreshadow the coming expansion.

The last thing is I think what the x.5/x.55 patches do in FF14, though.

The point is to launch new jobs and new races 1-2 weeks prior the actual expansion release.
As i mentioned earlier, this will allow for players to go into endwalker with their sage / reaper lvl 80 from the get go without wasting 2-3 days while everyone else is having fun in new dungeons / zones.
Also, let's be honest, everyone will start with early access. EA is here to justify the server instability at launch and potential major bugs that will be fixed right before the "actual" relase

    A problem nonetheless

Anyway, over the years FFXIV team had brought numerous QoL changes one would deem "first world problems"
So I see no reason to ignore this one as well

Does this boil down to the mentallity that an MMO is a race to the end and if you're jsut a day or two behind you're shit out of luck and all the fun of the experience is wasted?
Dang, I feel sorry for all the players who started after the release of FFXIV 2.0. They basically got screwed over from the fun of the game.
Heck, I got screwed then. Curse you SE! *shakes fist in anger*
Every good moment I had in the game was a lie!

To be fair, there's a "race to the end (while thoroughly enjoying the story) so you can join the discussion and before you unwillingly get spoiled" element to it.

Still, it's only a complication if you specifically want to play as sage or reaper, and while releasing them early would make sense to a degree, it also may be a deliberate tactic to stagger the crowds by making some portion of players do something other than go straight to the MSQ.

Sounds more like a entitlement. No one force you to look at social media and forums if you worried about being spoiled.

If you really want to "win the race" then do the msq on a pre existing Lv80 job and change to RPR and SAG or whatever they going to be shortened as.
