Expanding the Aesthetician

i think it would be nice if the aesthetician's services could be upgraded to include changing skin/eye color. for the sake of "lore" it could just be that the aesthetician can provide you with skin cream and colored contacts.

but first rather than just give you those options, involving crafters/gatherers would make it all the better. allowing gatherers to obtain materials for crafters to process into these items would be an interesting way to involve crafters/gatherers for player customization.

i just had this idea because compared to wow's barbershop (which allows for hair, hair color face, skin color, eye color, and even gender alongside race specific customizations for a token amount of gold). i'd say this is one of the few things, alongside the transmog collection, wow has over xiv when it comes to character customization.

Honestly, skin cream for changing skin color sounds extremely awful... I hope they at least let us change eye color, it would add a lot for customization and could be excused in lore as contacts.



But really I wish we could upgrade the aesthetician to have plastic surgery capabilities, ideally I'd want fantasia to only be race/clan change and maybe gender, and leave the rest to be changed ingame. We already pay a sub, and wow was able to expand their appearance change ingame and allow those options.

The only feature I think worth of expanding in Aesthetician is to make it so Hroths can change their hair with one. Having to Fantasia just to change hairstyle seems pretty daunting. Having more options are always welcome though, don’t get me wrong. But with Fantasia in mogstation, I don’t think SE will add anything else into Aesthetician.

I believe the aesthetician should be able to change everything except race, clan, and gender. Basically, open up every option that's available in the appearance customization menu.

The Manderville questline already established that people can completely change their appearance with glamour prisms, so it wouldn't be unbelievable that the aesthetician would be able to do the same.

I would just like more facepaint options and option to make eyebrows darker than the hair. Also since male vieras got the option to make their eyelashes longer I would like that for my femviera too. I think there is a thread for this though already.

Yoshida talked about contacts possibly being available from the aesthetician like in late ARR in a live letter but he just never mentioned it again after. That fantasia money be too tempting.

Viera girls have additional eyelashes as well, though for some reason only for face 1 and 2, while faces 3 and 4 got eyeliner instead. Kind of weird how guys got eyelashes on all 4 faces and girls got it only on two.
Another thing that is kinda unfair is that for guys their additional eyelashes match the color of their hairs on 3 out of 4 faces (which I find very cool), while for girls they're always black. This is sad.

If they did do skin tone, I think it should only be from the same row as the skin tone you selected to simulated getting a tan or your tan fading.

As for the eye color, I remember Yoshi P saying something about it might be time to add that feature in one of the past ShB letters but I can't remember which.
