    Hunts?

Working on my Stardust Novus relic, one of the steps involves getting Allied seals from elite marks. Of course, the only direction the game gives you is the entire zone so need some third party help. Spent a good 20 minutes flying along a path where 3-4-5 separate ones are supposed to spawn Nothing, zada, zilch. I know there isn’t an exact answer, but how long might I expect to have to spend getting an elite mark like this? Is there any way to “encourage” the bugger to appear? Oh, and are these only once per week, or daily?

There are several different ones. You have daily hunts, weekly hunts (b Ranks), and then A an S ranks which have no quest associate with them and have certain spawn requirements. The daily and weekly ones you pick up from your grand company for ARR ones, and the main cities for each expansion.

You don't need to do hunts.
    • Completing FATEs with a Animus Zodiac Weapon equipped (as before). (Try Northern Thanalan for best results)
    • Can be bought from a Hunt Billmaster in either Ul'dah, Gridania or Limsa Lominsa for 50 Allied Seals.
    • From treasure chests from Mysterious Maps. Can be bought from Auriana in Revenant's Toll for Allagan Tomestone of Poetics 75 Allagan Tomestone of Poetics.
Easier to do third then first ones if you don't understand hunts yet.

For hunting you would find A ranks, which respawn several hours after dying. There is one in each ARR area. You would want to be a high level, like 80, to solo them, because they are meant to be fought by a party. You can visit other servers if they all seem missing. You can also get Allied Seals from doing blue mage's level 50 content.

Ah, not sure about rank, but think it was called an “Elite mark.” Think those are weekly, so several hours after spawn makes it not an efficient way. I’m always rolling in poetics, they are partly my Gil making scheme at my current development level (80 combat level, just starting botanist/culinarian). Did a couple of maps, almost gave up on the second one because it bore almost no resemblance to where I eventually found the treasure. Man, the maps in this game really suck.

Rank B elite marks are weekly and meant for soloing and respawn after 5 seconds, while rank A elite marks respawn after several hours and are meant for a party. At level 80 they are easy to solo though.

Maybe I missed something, but nowhere did it list any rank, was the same critter as yesterday, so a weekly and in a 3 minute circuit, wasn’t there. Oh, was off the hunt board by the Immortal Flames in Ul’dah. @5 per, those maps seem most efficient.
