I certainly get annoyed when someone tries to create an opinion criticizing something when they have no clue what exactly that entails as a result, especially when you're in the position of influencing a fairly large audience. Regardless of what that opinion is in the first place. It's quite a common thing to do. If he doesn't want to get attacked then he should stop trying to deflect his own mistakes onto the game, or those he's playing with.

To be honest, people didn't need you to post a video to begin flaming the dude.

So you get annoyed that someone is not fair to the game? Kinda silly thing to be annoyed about. Why does it matter? No offense, but the cult of FF14 is kinda weird and makes the community look bad when it can't just sit back and laugh at someone playing poorly and cries about game being bad. Instead they act like someone personal attacked them.

Why does it matter? Remember when LazyPeon dumped on this MMO after barely trying it then hyped up Ashes of Creation? Someohow LazyPeon became a respected voice because you know New Zealand accent and nice editing makes your opinions valuable.

The issue with that is he got hundreds of thousands of views on that video by a large amount of the Sprouts who are trying this MMO right now realizing he was full of crap. That is why FF14 players need to go more on the offensive.

Quin did not "simply quit" and move. No he went out of his way to use his platform on Twitter to trash the MMO then lie and say he gave it his best shot. That Twitter feed is basically him getting ratiod by people who play WoW, FF14 and every other game other there calling him out for lying.

Trust me this guy deserves everything he gets and made the choice to trash his reputation like this. Quin is acting how people thought Asmongold would act who do not know him.

Again lazy had a right to feel that way, and if people want to listen to him instead of giving it a shot. That is a lost for them. If the game is good like it is. It will build up without people attacking these people. In fact, I think how people act at times turn people away more than these two people, with how upset and offended they get because someone thinks the game is trash.

Ya I have, many of the things he does is a act or persona (maybe?) for streaming. My stance is that, do we really want to sink that low because the guy acts like a moron? Like, it just feels wrong to me to get so offended.

While I find it okay to discredit his claims of things he has not really experienced in the game, I do agree that anything beyond that is unnecessary because it only adds fuel to the flame and falls back to the FFXIV community. This makes us look bad.
But Asmon already said it and I agree with that statement. The vocal community that goes out of their way to attack someone are the absolute minority, however they do make it appear like they speak for everyone which is just not true.

I can see how he is fun to watch raging and claiming to be the best at everything he does. There are people that enjoy it and he has been successful with that persona. He didn't give the game a real chance it's not his cup of tea and he should've just quit.
It was his dicision however to make a dishonest review about things he knows nothing about even his mods told him to just leave it alone.

No, I get annoyed when people try to make an opinion about something and try to do it under the guise of he was making informed opinions or assertions to someone with a fairly large following, especially when his reviews will help to inform people other than himself about the game. This is why it is a problem. It's not even down to this game, but me making a general statement that it's a complete and apparent disingenuous thing to do. He didn't go into this with a clear or open mindset, he went in there with genuine and deliberate intent to try and dump on the game.

It has little to do with the game itself and more on the basis of principle, is that difficult for you to understand? This has nothing to do with being part of a cult or trying to be a zealot. He's free to have his opinion to a large audience provided he's not trying to push himself across as though he's making a well-informed opinion, or at least an opinion formed on solid experience - Especially when in reality it is anything but informed. - Don't try and critique something when you have little idea or experience with what exactly it is you're critiquing.

Yep, exactly, and I would feel this way if someone said they didn't like literally anything else without giving something a proper go. I'm not going to attack the guy, but I will say that he went about FF XIV the wrong way. In FF XIV, it's more about the journey than the destination. If someone doesn't like the game, it's fine. Heck, they are also free to give whatever feedback they wish. But they should at least know what they are talking about first.

I should add that I'm really tired of people putting streamer opinions on a high pedestal like they are some sort of god, when they are nothing more then someone who gets paid to play games. While I appreciate Asmond getting more people interested, people like this dude come along, play a shite persona, and people take their word as gold.

Yeah, streamer opinions hold little weight for me. Still, sometimes they make some good points.
