Honestly, SQEX should remove boosts from players who didn't completed the story once on the account. Boost is clearly for alts but since they introduced those, we got really bad players that would simply boost then quit the game because they did not learned the very basics.

As for Clown69, he tried to eat a melon directly biting in without any knowledge of how to eat a melon. He then talked shit about the melon and directly said it taste bad, complaining that it's not strawberry.
But in the end, he said that he enjoyed the color and the roundness of the melon.

I just see a lot of people making fun of him. Which isn't nice.. but you can't really say that he:

a.Gave the game any sort of fair shot. If you're gonna skip pot, maybe go watch a couple guides to explain not to stand in orange or what the savage mechanics are.
b.had any validity to any claims he made about understanding his class or that it was his partymembers that were to blame for failing
c. had any intention of doing anything other than hopping on a bandwagon.


FFXIV is not for everyone and if he tried it and reviewed it fairly nobody would care if he really didn't like it.. but he Meme'd it up and now.. well.. Everyone laugh at the clown cause it's definitely what he is. I'd bet this is possibly even what he wanted: Attention, negative OR positive.

It's not his time on the line because he is a streamer. Playing videogames is his job.

If he wants to half ass through his job then go ahead, all the power to you my man, but then:
a) don't state your opinion as facts, even if they might have some unintentional semblance of truth, when you didn't even try at all(ie. saying the combat system is clunky, which is true sometimes, but you level skipped and don't even know how to play your class or dodge basic markers the game explained for the past 50 levels you skipped; or saying that the story is bad and cliched, which again is true sometimes, when you didn't even play 10% of the story. it's like saying a book is bad without even reading it just because you didn't like the cover and back art)
and b) don't act defensively when your viewers (aka your customers) call you out on half assing your review (even one of his own mods called him out).

I suppose you don't find it at all cringe or annoying then when people express ill-informed opinions or opinions formed exclusively on lack of experience; such as:

- Savage is easy, and it's very slow-paced and boring - From someone that may have significantly underperformed and cleared only a single tier on the backs of others.

- Nah this job is easy - From someone whose sum experience of the job is getting it to Level 50 and doing nothing with it.

- Nah this game is incredibly easy - From someone who only has the sum experience of clearing the latest dungeon Paglth'an

We've always had bad players. Boosting didn't change anything because someone unwilling to learn at 40 isn't going to magically care at 80. Plenty of people have boosted and learned how to play properly. They simply weren't interested in the story. In fact, some of the most prominent FFXIV streamers skip every cut scene.

Boosts are basically paying SQEX do you aren't pressing escape half a billion times.

I was thinking about this the other night; why exactly isn't that a requirement in the first place? It feels weird that there isn't some account-requirement in place before a person is able to Boost a character.
