Insight on most fun tank?

Based on what you asked for, gnb is a very clear choice. Like Shao said it can throw a dot heal on others and also throw a defensive buff of 15% on top of it's standart raidwide mitigation, so it has pretty good utility.

It's definitely the most fun tank as it has a lot of buttons to press and compared to drk (which uses most of it's ogcds only every 1 minute mark) has an evenly spread out bursts of some badass explosions and ogcds every 30 seconds with a bigger burst every 1 minute. When we're talking about fun, war and drk are basically out of the question, you just do your 1 combo and get to spam same gauge spender 5 times every 90 seconds, warrior can impress you with some big numbers, but once you see through it and realise it's actual dmg is worse than other tanks, that magic wears off quickly. Can't say anything about pld, haven't leveled it.

GNB also has top damage among tanks and pretty good self-sustain, you can solo most things as gnb that war and pld can solo, although it would be much easier with those.

And i know you said you don't care about which one is most viable and desire, but as a cherry on top gnb is also the best choice for tank in every content.

I would say PLD/GNB are tied followed by DRK then WAR

My favorite was HW DRK. I miss Scourge and Shadow Skin. And even Dark Dance and Delirium.

i cant tell you what is best but i can tell you what not to play. that is paladin. paladin over-bloated. buttons completely hard to difficult to play on controller. you have massive rotation almost size of lvl80 summoner. has more ability filler situational abilities then all other tanks. that you just dont use or just stop using at some point, sometimes you feel like your not playing a tank at all. bout some abmonation that tank devs made

meaning some abiltiies you get really wont use unless your raiding

Screw TBN, we were much more fun in HW. We've been crapped on for two straight expansions now. I'm hoping the next one returns us to glory.

Whoa, there, Falar... I agree with you, but this is not the place for that.
let us not argue with the young and new Dark Knights over our subclass, as the new players have no idea at all what the glory days were like, and the awful current Dark Knight is all that they know, so a lot of them think that Dark Knight is fine, having never seen back when Dark Knight was considerably better... though there are also old player Dark Knights that some how like the current version...
side-note, I am not saying that Cheolsu is a new player, I am just being general.

I am enjoying DRK and PLD the most right now, though OP if part of your issue is being a bit strapped for time I'd recommend DRK as PLD has a more involved rotation than means learning and optimizing a fight takes a bit longer.

So many good points for each tank. I’m perhaps no closer to an answer haha! It’s ok, I feel the majority think GNB would be the best option.

My cousin plays WAR which he loves so that sort of threw me a little. I did play WAR myself back in 2.0 but, it’s so different tbh.

DRK and PLD still do interest me. I heard PLD becomes quite fun at the later levels?

It’s such a tough choice
