Helping sprouts

I'm liking the sudden influx of new players around the main city hubs. So I decided to go out in the early level fields as a healer and act as a flying ambulance. I try not to intervene, so as to let them get a hang on things mechanical wise, but if they pull something out of their lvl range or too many mobs, I watch and see if they can handle it. If it's too much and they go to 15-10% health, I pop a shield on them to keep them going.

All this in mind, does this count as interfering with others game play? I don't have any ill intents to the sprouts, just want to help out.

I told random people to give the sprouts food in limsa the other day xD. But sprouts are like new kids. They do the Stop and Go run so good lol. play dead infront of them and watch what happens.

I will typically just swap to a job in their level range or just chill out and watch. If they die I throw a rez to help them out. Last thing I want is some scholar throwing a shield on a sprout and making them thing they are invisible and then getting rekt when the shield absorb is over.

Doing this is also a good way to finish the healer achievement to rez people.

I think you're safe as long as you listen if someone asks you to stop or go away. They aren't ASKING for your help but they've got every tool available to them to tell you they don't want it as well.

Nothing in FFXIV's overworld play stops you from helping people out. Be it by killing their monster or healing them. You could do either, and if they don't tell you to buzz off, then you're fine. There's no claim system like FFXI, so don't sweat the small stuff.

Yeah I'm sure you will be fine as long as you're respectful. I was in the Shroud the other day helping out my sprout brother. I was on PLD in the 80 artifact set and a random sprout came running towards me with half the zone chasing them, I took that as a "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp"

I'd argue a stranger crawling out of the bushes and saving your life, before silently disappearing back into them IS part of the FFXIV experience.
