Please decouple Instance from MSQ, old content cannot form party and stops progress

I am returning after 7 years, have bought the expansions and subscripted for 6 months. I stop at 2.0 and was starting 2.1 quests.

And just shortly into a few MSQ, I need to do "Thornmarch (Hard)" to progress. So I queue up for it.


after 75 mins, I am still waiting for a party to form.


This should not be the experience for returnee coming back to enjoy the game. We want to experience the story, so we will want to do the MSQ. But when you cannot even progress, it just turns us off.

Please provide an alternative on this or you will lose the returnee again.

So i notice that you are posting on the English Forums, but it says your character is on the Hades server which is on one of the Japanese data centers. What you probly want to do is go into your duty finder settings, and highlight japanese along with english as acceptable languages for matching. Dutyfinder matching is done at the data center level, and since the VAST majority of the players available for you to match with are japanese players this trick will greatly reduce your que times in most* content. Not being able to easily communicate is unfortunate, but most instances you dont see people chatting anyway. You could also put up party finder groups like the previous respondant said, and of course going with FC or friends also works. For that matter, a single level 80(honestly, level 60 would probly be enough) friend could bring you through all the level 50 instances unsync'd if youre ok with not experiencing the fights.

*Some duties already set to match people this way by default. They try to give you same language, but will automatically accept anyone to keep groups filling. Because this setting isnt true across all content, the jp language trick is a good one to know for people in your situation.
