Seem like a pretty negative insight and selfish request in all honesty. Especially given that the claim reads that they, the one should feel they have more value over any others due to, well, a very obscure and obtuse reasons; Streamers and "I've been playing and posting longer." When in reality no one is absolutely positive that this is the hip cool reason thing for the influx. My guess would be it has some impact but not, nor, the main reason to the full scale of why there is the surge of new players.
As well, like myself many used to play a while ago (Me; from 2015-2017) and are just now coming back, just so happened to be during a weird situation (this is called a coincidence). The correlation and causation of a handful or interweb personalities coming to the game doesn't have any impact nor are the reasons why myself, nor many others happen to be returning. Let alone the sole reason for newer players. I just happen to have more free time play due to medical situations; friends wanted me to join their server and paid for a few boosts once I created a new character there and deleting my original one cause I had no use for it. Thus, allowing me to puts around and hang with them while they do arbitrary tasks.
So does this fall with in the "hip cool thing" reason? I'm going to say... Probably.

They do lock servers to character creation when they hit certain thresholds. It sounds like your server may be active, but not hitting those thresholds. They can't lock everything down.
As the title says. Please lock the creation on large pop servers. Currently I see that Excalibur is allowing creation along with Behemoth and such. Which are, as i'm told and believe, larger pop servers since I already have had a queue time when logging in since having to transfer from Malboro when you put that on Crystal. But with the influx of players because of certain streamers, and more streamers starting to play (because it's the hip cool thing to do for views atm). Please lock these servers. Those of us who HAVE been playing and not just picking it up following whatever streamer these people watch shouldn't have to be punished in a queue because it's now a fad to play. I love that the game is getting more of a playerbase. But i'm gonna be honest. It's gonna drive me away if I can't even get on my server TO play because of this.Poorly veiled Asmon and WoW player hate topic. Honestly, if they drive you a way they'd be making the whole community a favor. We don't need haters and toxic players. My wait has been about max 5 minutes. However, those that NORMALLY play on Cactuar before a big streamer started playing on there most likely had no wait time at all. Now. I hear the log in is around 2k wait. On top of that, people that were playing on that server legit at the time were "Randomly" kicked off the server, only to be met with the queue of 2k upon trying to log back in.
Also in case you don't know, Square Enix added a button to your logging screen that allows you to queue for the first world that has space. You generally don't have to wait more than 15 seconds thanks to it.

Where is this button?Poorly veiled Asmon and WoW player hate topic. Honestly, if they drive you a way they'd be making the whole community a favor. We don't need haters and toxic players.

It's not a button per se, it's a submenu option. Just need to pull up the submenu for your character on the selection screen (right click with a mouse, don't know what a controller user needs to press).
Probably would help to stress that you don't get to select the world. You'll be placed on a random world in your data center. Once you're in-game, you can use world visit to get to a specific world.

I see it now. This will help significantly for Endwalker, so thank you both.

They do lock the servers when they're full. If people can still make characters they aren't that's pretty simple. Issue really is making them in prime time even when a server isn't locked to new characters. It does take a bit of trying at low peak hours many times and perhaps they should be addressed to allow more freedom for creation during peak hours.
I suspect we'll see more servers added prior to EW before the release of the xpac especially in North America.
Currently no worlds are locked in North America. They are all Standard or Preferred.
