Collaboration for FFXI's 20th anniversary

With the Final Fantasy XI 20th year anniversary coming up next year. I think it would be fun for Final Fantasy XIV to do something to commemorate FFXI. FFXIV is it's own game but owes much to FFXI in terms of paving the way for a great MMO. I think it would be great to have some sort of collaboration event or even something simpler like adding items to the Gold Saucer. I would personally love to have the Novennial Dress and Novennial Coat Sets to be added to FFXIV. These were always my favorite outfits in the game and I think it would be amazing to have them in FFXIV and have them dyeable as well.



Let me know what you guys think. About a collaboration event or adding some FFXI glamour to FFXIV to commemorate 20 years of a beloved game.

We've already had two seperate FFXI crossover events run so far throughout ARR's operation, I think it's probably time SE moved onto another title for crossovers (and I say that as a FFXI player since 2005).

We also already have quite a bit of old FFXI gear in the game too (Koenig's armour as the 'Wootz' armour, the Scorpion Harness and the Vermillion Cloak, not to mention Iroha's outfit from Rhapsodies of Vana'diel as the reward from the aforementioned second FFXI event), but more gear is always good.

Okay I just finally want a FFVII crossover event for Aerith's dress.

I loved FFXI and often pop back to play as the world is full of atmosphere and danger and great jobs.

I enjoyed the last crossover we had and I do think we need another, I would like something new. FFXI is related to FFXIV so lets hope so

Don't need to be a colab but I would definitely re-sub to XI if they remade the game in a modern game engine. The game hasn't aged well.

I would be happy with minions of Lion, Prishe, Aphmau, Lilisette, Arciela and Iroha.
Also all-classes glamours for the original AFs of XI's job would be a dream come true.

Though we already had 2 FFXI events, I would be up for a 3rd. In fact, I think Iroha stayed on Eorzea at the end of her event, and Shantotto said she could come back at the end of hers. ¿Perhaps a 3rd event that would connect and close those things? Or just repeating those two with new rewards (Iroha minion or Shantotto outfit).

But something I would like is this: In their Eureka minions, Mithra, Tarutaru, and Elvaan are mentioned as the ancestors of the current Miqo'te, Lalafell, and Elezen. So, if one future day we could travel to Meracydia, we would find that their inhabitants (if currently any) didn't evolved like their northern cousins, so they would still be Mithra, Tarutaru, Elvaan, and even Galka.

Oh! And Tenzen's clothes. They're actually in the game, but we can't get them.

We don't know, she just.... left the Drowning Wench and was never seen again. But then, it's a special event, they're not necessarily connected into the wider game's storyline nor have any true conclusive resolution (instead special event storylines seem to exist in their own independent bubble, much like the Hildibrand quests). Iroha never seeming to return to Vana'diel and being seemingly trapped on Hydaelyn is more just a way of sending her off without having to worry about a lore reason either way.

Also, technically she has no world to return to, she was from Vana'diel's bad future which, like here in ShB, the player ended up preventing from ever occuring so yeah, leaving her on Hydaelyn is SE's way of taking her out of both FFXI's story and FFXIV without commiting to anything that might involve her in the future, but allowing the possibility of doing so if they ever decide to.

Besides, as far as I knew it was never even explained exactly how Iroha ended up on Hydaelyn in the first place, she just... appeared... (she thought it was either Altana or 'her master' - aka the player's character in FFXI - responsible, but nothing was ever proven or confirmed). At least Shantotto's sudden appearence in Hydaelyn had an explanation (the taboo dimension-hopping magic she used in her FFXI mini-expansion A Shantotto Ascension), and she was shown returning back to Vana'diel, but Iroha's appearence in Hydaelyn never had the benefit of such an explanation or resolution.

Well she says she was in a fight and then there was a bright light of sorts, which had me believe that maybe she came to XIV's world after the fight against Metus (and her being adamant about returning ASAP implied the fight against the Cloud of Darkness hasn't happened yet)... but then she never returned and that just confused the heck out of me (especially considering how Rhapsodies ends).
