When they showed off reaper Yoshi said in an interview that reaper was not a pet job like Mch and Smn. Mch hasn’t been a pet job since Shadowbringers rework. I mean granted they bring out their queen when they have enough gauge but when I think of pet jobs I think of pets out 100% of the time like summoner and scholar. Hmm is he trying to tell us something for Endwalker?

Think what he means is you don't summon it and it auto attacks for a few. Instead you'll hit a oGCD like Fan Dance and get a giant avatar attack. This is probably the gauge spender.

Also by Yoshida's definition of a pet job, Drk is also a pet job.

The avatar isn't a separate entity. It's just an animation for whatever attacks utilize it.

What he meant is, voidborne damage won't be a different source of damage (like it's the case with killer queen and pets) but rather your own

Technically, just think about the Voidsent as an animation/spell effect and not as an actual separate entity, like an egi.

Tbh i see it like a "smn". GCD's will be your attacks, oGCD's will be your voidsent, burst phase will be your fusion. Could be wrong on that but you can probably imagine it better like that

I guess it's like the RDM combo : you build your gauge and you trigger the "augmented" version with the void puppet behind you in the animation

I think he was referring to HW MCH pre SHB. Though I thought of Turret more like WoW Totems than pets.

It's an oGCD attack. Not a 5 second delay fire and forget glorified DoT.

Yoshida doesn't even know what a "pet" job even is.

A pet job would require that a "NPC" deal all your real damage for you instead of what we have been getting.

The only actual pet jobs that exist in FFXIV are the healers and your party is the closest you have to pets that you manage and control.
